Hey everyone, I'm going to look at a low km 2015 3500 tomorrow. I know the newer duramaxs get really good fuel milage, a buddy of mine has a 2016. Is the engine the same in those years and does the 2015 get the same fuel mileage.
Is there anything I should know to look for in the 2015?

Thx

Have a new 2016. They did an upgrade in 16 to digital steering. It is really nice to tow with. Pretty good milage. I can't say anything about the 15 though.

I picked up a 2016 3500 duramax, really happy with the mileage. It's no ecodiesel but it's nice to drive a real truck again.

I picked up a 2016 when the incentives were on almost 25% off msrp couldnt be happier 3/4 of a tank from Grande Prairie to Calgary. Best I can do with my deleted cummins is 800km with a tail wind.

210000km on my LML, deleted in the summer. 7000km on this oil change and the oil is still golden.

LML is one of the best duramax's GM has produced.

The LML has been the same since 2011, i can't see 16 being any better on fuel than 11. These numbers that your posting are not average per tank. What is the most Kilometers you have done on tank fuel?

800 k with the DPF, average 16 liters /100 over 300k
1000 k deleted on my 2011
Average 14.5 per 100

One other difference is the tow mirrors. Some 2015 have the old original style tow mirrors . Mine is a 15.5 , has the new style tow mirrors. The glass is much wider on the mirror making it even better for seeing around a trailer when towing, and also have bright l.e.d lights that you can turn on when backing up the truck. The lights are on the outside of the mirror

Then we mirrors are much nicer when using to see stuff and the lights are nice but I believe the new mirrors are a little bit narrower in overall extended width compared to the older style truck body and mirrors

Took my 17 down to Wyoming last week with four place trailer, drove it as hard as it could be for break-in.. For 57 miles it was pinned in a real ugly head wind, and never hit max speed. Pulling it that hard.. Out of 700 miles there it averaged 7.4mpg at average speed of 75mph

truck has more Tq than 15 or 16 has, but has real ugly body role in it when passing trucks, or even around curves compared to other trucks, will need attention soon as I will not pull with it again till its figured out.. That bad

If your avg speed is 75 mph then your driving around 90 mph with a crazy wind. Just a quick question, when you offer if other guys want to drive and 3 guys say yes before you are done asking, then maybe it's the driver not the truck! Used to sled with a guy who thought it was a race to get there. We always offered to drive rather than him.

Was to be the same setup as my 15 and 16, at dealer now and they are comparing to see changes.. Gm thinks it's a calibration change to torsion bars or a wrong shock compression..

Niner.. Speed limit on interstate is 80mph, Rd strait and dual lane.. 90 would be easy attainable for long distances
