don't know about the 1000 doo but I did see the 900 in a summit like chassis this year and it wasn't a garage built machine

I dont think you can find a more reputable source than www.sledrumors.com haha!

Seriously though......I would love a 1000 that you could tweak to get up over 200, but after the last 1000 doos I think there will be a few people standing back for a while. Id rather see them tweak the 800 a bit. Maybe go a little bit bigger, and just squeeze more hp out of them. I read somewhere that they changed the crankshafts on the 600s and got another 7hp out of it or something? Something about changing it so it draws more air through. Id way rather have a tweeked 850 making 175 than a 1000 making 190.

200hp. yamaha mountain max would be interesting, and arctic cat 850 putting out 170hp would put them back in the game. None the less it will be interesting to see how much of this is actually true.

Id be disappointed if it were actually a 4stroke. When you think of mountain max first thing comes to your mind is the triple under the hood screaming bloody murder... Ulghhhhhhhh.... That'd be sweet..

The etec right now is making 3.28 HP per cubic inch out of a mass produced engine , with that being said, this is nothing short of amazing . The current crop of pro-stock drag cars are around 3 HP per cubic inch and they spend millions to get a extra 5 horsepower on a engine that makes 9-10 runs before a rebuild .The 800CC etec is at the "law of diminishing returns" crossroad ,does BRP spend millions on a engine that is already extremely efficient at burning fuel or does it increase the displacement to burn more fuel ? Can the working existing engine program potentially increase 20 percent in displacement and yield 20 percent more HP ? . If they chose to build it, that would be the best way to make a big step in HP .IMO

If Doo made a lightweight 4 stroke in the xm chassis I will be snowchecking one for sure!!! Or if yamaha comes out with a lightweight 4 stroke same thing. I just don't want to wait an extra year though.
