haha really???. Instead of doin it properly for yr 2 or 3, lets keep doin it weak but slap on ugly stiffeners.

When do you see the stiffeners? When its on the trailer?

The new freerides I saw photos and vids of had colored stiffeners.

Front cooler, necessary. Lightweight can? I am sure to meet the emission requirements for noise, it has to be that size, Headlight and airbox, well, I am not sure how the XM is put together, but it was an intregal part that basically held the top half of the sled together, and also reduced noise. I think if you hit any sleds the wrong way you will see busted parts. I smacked rocks and stumps and never has any broken modules, some did though..

Right now Doo doesn't need to lighten up or introduce anything super different to stay in the game.. I am sure they have some idears up their sleeve when they do need them....

The race department has a carbon hood/airbox assembly with one light.

I have never broken a module either. Tweaked them though.

Polaris cans are smaller and lighter and built in the EPA restrictive USA. And meets noise requirements.

But hey, you don't want to see improvements. I get that.

I do, but I'm looking at it from BRP's point of view. It doesn't matter what BRP does with their suitcases, most people pull them off and go with a lightweight one anyways. How many poo riders have stock cans on their rides?
If you could make a sammich that was fantastic, would you put mayo, mustard, and relish on it, or would you just let the customer customize to how he likes it.

Couldn't agree more! Doo has made their sled feel just as light, if not lighter on snow than the pro rmk while still being 40 pounds heavier and still manages to have a strong chassis.

Oh come on Cuso, unless BRP is paying you, why would you ever look at something from their perspective. You are a customer. You should want some change. Sure no manufacturer can make significant change year after year but it doesn't mean we can't want it. :)

Atleast the sandwich shop recognizes not everyone is a ham on white kinda guy and offers different breads and meats to appeal to more customers.

Go right back to my original suggestion though, why can't the X be a true upgrade which is a spring check sled that offers bolt on upgrades as options. The X is so close to the inseason model its hard to bother with one. Although incentives make the difference and a few extra colors are nice.

If %80 of people still change it then so be it. Why not have mbrp lead the design on making the can? If I had a Polaris I wouldnt change the can. Why wouldn't I want to save near $300 if the stock can was lighter and had a little brap. Besides in the West we do not have noise restrictions set by the government for off highway vehicles as far as I know. Make it available only to Western dealers.

These are just ideas that float in my head as I waste my days sitting around with a broken leg. For me weight does matter to a point. I am not a huge guy. Sometimes it takes more effort to get a doo including the XM to do a few things I find easier to do on a Pro. I would just like to feel that same ability on the XM.

I agree with you takethebounce. Not enough solid changes to make me want to upgrade from my 2010 yet. Mind you I have a fair bit done to it. Anyone that says lightwieght isnt a big deal is decieving themselves. If doo does the things you mentioned Ill snowcheck one.

Not going to happen.. FAR to many legal issues with doing that unfortunatley... Just becuase there are no restrictions in the west for noise doesnt mean there arent other restrictions that wont let them do that... They arent going to start producing sleds differently for different geographic locations when they are mass produced and one factory... You think sleds came late last year wait until you see what that does lol... OK GUYS............WE ARE DOING THE BRITISH COLUMBIA SLEDS THIS WEEK..... SHUT EVERYONE ELSE DOWN!!!! The idea is very good but it will never happen unfortunatley.

If sleds showed up in December with everything already done to them, people wouldn't need a month to upgrade them.

Doo is so interested in selling wraps and accessories, why not offer the race department upgrades. The off-road world can do it. They just stamp the product not intended for road use, or off-road use only. The BRP race department could do the same. You would just order those upgrades when you build your sled online.

I haven't looked at Polaris's site extensively but can't you customize the sled as you build it? Simple items. Bolt on items.

You can do that at the ski-doo website too.... I agree with what you are saying dont get me wrong! This just kind of falls into the same area as unleashing a new motor and everything all at once.... What are they going to do the next??? Gotta keep some cards in the sleeve right

Come one.......they havent changed the chassis, they have tweaked it with a wobbly skid and a flex track. I have aftermarket suspension on mine that I think works better than the XMs I have rode. Yes the engine has changed, but my Ptec with a 14:1 head still out does any XM I have been around. Like I said, my sled isnt completely stock. I have Toms suspension, evol Rs, 2.5 Challenger extreme, 14:1 head, can, roosterbuilt clutching, airframes, rave mod, 2 wheel kit, S36, and probably a few other things so its not apples to apples. All Im saying is that the XMs I have ridden arent night and day enough to make me want to switch yet. If they lost a bunch of wieght I probably would.
