While Polaris does have a good product I think the EPA standards has put the writing on the wall!I would say that will be any of the US manufactures biggest hurdle in next few years!(as much as it does suck)

Ummm. While you are fixing the problem on one side of the sled drinking a beer. Your buddy can be can be fixing the same problem on the other side drinking a beer. 2 tracks. 2 beers. 2 guys. I see we're they are going with this idea. Well done Polaris!

Yes you have that right and just about every edition back till 1970 with a picture if the new scorpion stinger and Ferlin Husky driving(snow Goer) ! Whoa now I am dating myself!! Anyhow with 2014 being the EPA crunch time and Polaris and cat behind the eight ball I think they have a few more things than twin tracks to worry about. If they don't have an answer the super light sleds may gain some weight?

I think I read the same thing somewhere, they were talking about rails that could move independent of each other as well. I'll bet it doesn't happen, especially the two track thing.

Neither.. A more reliable 800 that puts out 160hp+ in the same Lightweight chassis would be the bees knees.

More like Polaris arctic cat skidoo and yamaha join forces and there is only one brand of 800 next year so all we have to argue about is who has the coolest gear and who packs the best muffpot

Ok seriously, I don't understand why anybody gives a flying Fawk about sidehilling, that's all I've heard for the last 10 years "this new chassis side hills so much better" does anyone really spend more than a total of .001 miles all day side hilling? Does it REALLY make that much difference? if your garage conversation revolves around who's sled side hills better, you've got to be the most boring, lame ass group ever. My wedge side hilled fine, my 900 side hilled, and guess what? My IQ700 will side hill just fawkin fine too. /rant.

Flickable - 1. Used to describe the agility of a motorcycle, or how quickly a rider can “flick” the bike from side to side in turns. 2. Unstable; taking very little effort to move between an upright position and a lean. 3. The more flickable a motorcycle is, the faster it can turn.
As I've said before, it's been used longer in the bike industry, before it was brought over to the snow.
I bet I end up sidehilling for more like 5-10 miles on some days. There is a lot more to sledding than just sidehilling but for me its a huge part of the fun. Sometimes I ride on the nice snowy sidebank of the trail for miles, beats pounding down the icy centre and you can catch some sweet drifts. Its probably the #1 reason I'm riding a pro this year, I agree that flickable has become almost the most annoying campaign ever heard but I just couldn't get that sweet balance point in the POW feeling out of a Doo. I rode both the pro and etec a few times over the last couple years and had a really hard time not buying a doo. I thnik our french cousins at BRP build the highest quality toys for all aspects of the motorsport industry and that 800 ETEC engine is proof that their engineering is superior thus far. But I could not get past what felt unpredictable "to me" handling characteristics of the XP, no experience with the XM yet. I know most doo riders would disagree because the XP is one of the most predictable and user friendly sleds on the snow but for my style of riding when the XP lifts one ski it just doesn't go were I think its going to without tons of throttle input and over balancing. I've been taking my new to mountain sledding brother inlaw out the last few years and insist he rent a doo though cause I think it will provide him with the most user friendly ride for his skill level.
Wow off topic. Anyway can't see 2 tracks to heavy and many moving parts. Hopefully a new engine in the Pro for next year though. Very impressed with the potent KTM 4 strokes in the Polaris sport quads and KTM still builds the baddest 2 strokes on two wheels....... Maybe KTM can be convinced to give a 800 2 stroke a try or just refine the top end and fueling of Polaris's existing 800.
