4 years actually. 09 600 etec's were the same way.

Yup. My neighbour has one. He bought it without knowing it didn't have the recoil. No problems as yet with his Doo, but I like the security of having the recoil in addition to the e-start. If I had to choose between the two, it would be recoil without a doubt.

My 2013 was e start. Starter bolts broke off in the alpine 1st day of a 5 day trip. Had to start it from the primary for 4.5 days. I recommend all esart owners by the back up recoil. It's hidden behind the panel but if u need it its there. I believe it was $150ish
