2012 etec, check key code...help...

we were stuck in silent pass on the way out today, buddies etec coded check key...

had the sled apart, pulled the fob reconnect a hundred times....

what to check now?

Heres what worked for us. Put the key under the exhaust outlet to get it warm and dried out. We had to do this twice until we undid the Dess post and tie wrapped it under the console to keep everything dry. Replaced the key before next trip and problem solved.

That's why I keep my spare DESS key in my backpack--No better place for it.

Go to your BRP dealer and get a new key programmed what is most likely wrong is that the inner part of the key is corroded and not getting a good connection with the DESS post

Same thing happened to me last year on the same sled. Go to the dealer and get a new key programmed. If anything else fixes it, it will only be temporary. It should be replaced under warranty, mine was.
