It looks like according to the microfich that there is new gearing, secondary calibration and belt for 2012. 40deg helix, blue/blue secondary spring, 19/51 gearing in the 163, and a 391 belt.

Hey glen , the new cat is heavy, we weighed on at 505lbs out of the box with no fuel:eek:

They are the same weight as last year which that actually isn't bad with all fluids except fuel. You should weigh a doo i think you'll be suprised we weighed an '08 XP right out of the crate and it was 468lbs, and they have added a fair bit of weight to them since '08. Also which model was it that you weighed? Snopro? HCR?

I thought that 2.52 with a 174 was geared low but if true to the microfich they are going to a 2.68. The 19 tooth top gear is quite small and could give them trouble with the 163.
I had trouble with the 20/49 gearing stretching chains and breaking on the 174.
With 2.52 top speed is all over at about 80 +/- mph @8200 rpm. With 2.68 and 7900rpm ??? ( low), rev limiter!
Have to wait and see.

Secondary spring part # 417 127 118, blue/blue 157lb/221lb spring force.
The specs could change when the sled arrives.

thats a big change in secondery helix and spring from what they had been useing . makes a lot more sence . what does the physh show for the ramp in the primary and spring ? curious .there reverse angle helix mad them use a different shape ramp in the primary , steeper to assist the back shift . should be flatter with this 40 degeree helix and spring in the secondery .the 305 lbs of finish they have used since 04 , could be interesting to see the 12's primary .
