Well I may be in for something new since my 800 has scuffed pistons again. The new chassis will have incredible handling. I have no doubt about that. I just really hope Polaris gets the 800 working.

They talk power to weight polaris is still the last one
Pol 144 hp 431lbs= 2.99 lbs per hp
Doo 159 hp 440lbs= 2.76 lbs per hp
Cat 163 hp 455= 2.79 lbs per hp
polaris cant build a 800 or 900 motor, history has proven that, there 600/700 are
best in business, with there 800 it isnt a matter of if but when it will go down.

Polaris Dragon---Dragon em back to the trailer:beer:

Okay for one, polaris has 154 horsepower NOT 144, two the cat weighs over 485 pounds and that is the actual dry weight tested by snowgoer mag and three the ski-doo motor is a claimed 155 and it says that right on their website....and the 800 ski-doo weighs 454 theres the link for proof...with these new stats which are REAL it goes like this

Polaris 154 hp 431 = 2.79
Ski-doo 155 hp 454 = 2.92
Cat 163 hp 480= 2.94
And these are the REAL non biased facts

Polaris probably will not publish H.P. numbers.... We will have to see what the independent Dyno's say.

i think all those weights are on different length tracks as well, so not really a fair comparison

Well, I ordered a 011 Pro-RMK 163. I made sure to get the 4 year warranty though. The thing that blows me away is the dry weight is 437 lbs. The dry weigh of my 09 RMK is 487 lbs with only a 155 track. 50 lbs is going to make a big difference!

These details about the 800 were posted by mountainhorse on HCS:

The 800 in both the rush and the RMK are a common rail, 2 injector SDI system running 4-bar (58 psi) fuel pressure.

The FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator) has been moved from the Pump Flange Assy (PFA) inside the tank....and been replaced with 2 rail-mounted FPR's to help stabilize any pressure fluctuation and provide a more precise fuel metering function.

The cylinders are ported differently, but it uses the same cylinder head/pistons as the 2010 800 CFi-4's.

The throttle bodies are mounted at a slightly different angle, tilted up with new TB boots to clear the new bulkhead and mate with the new airbox.

This engine sits lower in the bulkhead than the previous IQ fabricated assembly... lower center of gravity.

The engine mounts in the same way as the Rush 600 small block motor.

The Oil pump is similar to the current design except that it is rod-linkage connected to the throttle body for more positive control and sync to the engines needs.

The crankshaft is the same as the 2010 M.Y. and retains the large PTO bearing, pressure fed by the oil pump. The PTO taper remains the same at 32mm.

A new torque mount has been incorporated to locate the engine more accurately under load and keep it aligned.

Two ring pistons have been retained, and compression has been bumped just a tad.... Polaris has been at work on this motor and new injection system for a while now.

This new Bosch fuel system is new from the ground up and incorporates the TPS, temp and DET inputs you are already familiar with.

Exhaust valves remain solenoid activated, controlled by the ECU like current CFi offerings.

The MFD (Gauge) and digital wrench now access the info in the ECU via a CAN-Bus net.

In the demo that I did in Mt last month... the power delivery was spot on and Noticeably more responsive with better top end than the current 2010 MY sleds we had to compare them to as well as personal experience on this chassis.

The motor will be 2012 compliant and is pending final calibration/Validation of the current map... which to my understanding already meets the 2012 standards.

There are NO HP numbers avail from Polaris on this engine.. nor do I believe (IMO)... that ANY #'s will be available until independent dyno testing is done next season on consumer-delivered models.

Are you trading in your old RMK, it sure would be a shame to get rid of it, you have done a lot of work to it...It is a really nice looking machine! Good luck with the new one!

I would like to keep it but financially I just can’t make that happen. It will be going up for sale soon after I clean it up (don’t expect to sell it until fall, but you never know). I did put a bit of work into it but it was a fun project. I’ll probably do something similar with the new one. In the end I got dazzled by shiny and new. I have a weakness for that sort of thing.:d
