Well, I ordered a 011 Pro-RMK 163. I made sure to get the 4 year warranty though. The thing that blows me away is the dry weight is 137 lbs. The dry weigh of my 09 RMK is 187 lbs with only a 155 track. 50 lbs is going to make a big difference!

You’re right, fifty pounds can make a world of difference in the mountains. Doo did the same thing from their 07 REV to their 08 Xp and mountains guys loved the weight savings. However, I’d like to see a mountain sled putting out a 154 HP in a chassis that weighs less than the average guy riding it…? Please clarify.

:d:eek: All this time and I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. All fixed now.

Thanks

What dealer did you purchase it from? Cycle Works is quoting me $14,200 plus GST for the 163 with the 4 year warranty.

I snowchecked from Cycle Works south Edmonton. They can take at least $400 of list, and another $700-$800 off with 2 year warranty and no accessories.

i owe, i owe, its off to snow check i go.

I'm not married to any brand, but all my digging leads back to 2011 Polaris 800 Pro-RMK 163.

See you at the Polaris booth on thursday.

FYI, there is a REALLY nice 2007 Doo 800r 156 track for sale on kijiji if you are interested

I paid $12,700 for a 155 with a 2 year warranty at cycle works. Instead of $1200 in gear they're giving $1000 off the sled.

By [all in] do you mean GST included also?

THat is Right, All in including GST and all of the other little fee's they can throw in.
This is the second sled I have purchased from them, First was a Used 2004 700 Vertical Edge, met a tree the first time out to revelstoke. All of the dealers I called would not come close, they might have changed there tune buy now, I purchased mine in the first week of Snow check. So pricing might be more competative now..

Okay for one, polaris has 154 horsepower NOT 144, two the cat weighs over 485 pounds and that is the actual dry weight tested by snowgoer mag and three the ski-doo motor is a claimed 155 and it says that right on their website....and the 800 ski-doo weighs 454 theres the link for proof...with these new stats which are REAL it goes like this

Polaris 154 hp 431 = 2.79
Ski-doo 155 hp 454 = 2.92
Cat 163 hp 480= 2.94
And these are the REAL non biased facts

These numberrs are not accurate or even on the same level. As the weights for doo and the pol are dry weights and the cat weight is 485lbs out of crate weight so it has all fluids except fuel. i weighed an '08 XP 800 163 out of the crate and it was 468. The '09 doo 800 is stated on there website at 151+ hp, and they claim 163.9 out of the 2011 doo 800 and 464lbs dry.
So the humbers would look like this: Pol 155hp '10 model 437lbs = 2.82
Doo 164hp '11 model 464lbs = 2.83
(Out of crate) Cat 162hp '10 model 485lbs = 2.99 (estimated dry weight) Cat 162hp '10model 455lbs = 2.81 The estimated dry weight on the cat was done myself by takin off 30lbs for fluids, not sure what the fluids would actually weight 100%.So it actually turns out that they are all Almost identical numbers when comparing all same track lengths, the only real variable in it all is not knowing the new hp numbers out of the 2011 polaris.

I hope Polaris announces some additional rebates soon in response to the value of the dollar. AC is giving another $900 off on a M8. Sounds like Ski-doo has adjusted their prices too. Come on Polaris!

Hey Glengine, interesting facts given in your last post. I am not biased, but I do think your 30lbs is a little high. Just want to clarify what you are including in your "wet weight" coolant, oil, brake fluid? Coolant is my only question mark not exactly sure how much the machine holds (only have ever had to rebuild one motor)rough guess 4L, oil(depending on size of tank) 2-3L, brake fluid 500ml. Here are some quick conversions of volume to weight, 1L of oil = 1.942 lbs., 1L of pure water 2.205 lbs, 1L of fuel 1.625 lbs. So with 4-5L of coolant 5x2.205=10.125 lbs, 3L of oil 3x1.942=5.826 lbs, .5L of brake fluid (similar viscosity to oil) .5x1.942= .971 lbs. Grand total of fluids 16.922 lbs. I just looked the conversions up on a website and found them fairly interesting, I hadn't put much thought into how much liquids weigh. I could be completely out to lunch on my numbers so don't hesitate to make corrections to my somewhat flawed theory on wet weight.

Like i said in my earlier post i was just takin an estimate of what fluids weighed.

I gotta agree with stocky on this, they have put a lot of R&D into this new pro RMK, not like the old 900 disaster, polaris hired good people for this one and they want their share of the market back. Can't wait to get my hands one.
