i want the pro rmk 163 for when i do go off trail which is most of the time and i want to beat my buddies which have short tracks. what about a pro rmk 155 with a pump gas turbo and some other engine mods could i expect 110 mph+ on the trail with turbo and more mods?

The Pro RMK is geared for the mountains. If you want more speed on a trail gear it for that speed its already got the HP for that, but if you take that same gearing to the mountains where less HP is avaliable due to elevation and less air, you won't climb out of the smallest of situations.

Alls I know is that a guy I work with just bought the new 11' assault and I bought the 11' m8 and dec 3 we're going riding so we will see how they stack up, the only mods thus far are an aftermarket can on mine. I have a sneaking suspicion I'll walk all over him but we will see:d

The Dyno Run that DTR did might not be accurate. I was told that ecm releases differently, and that 2.5 HRS might not be long enough for it to release completly. Might be more HP than we orignally thought. Got mine home and I got to say HOLYSH!T it has some bottom end to it. We will have to just wait and see, oh by the way I have not seen a stock sled that light to pick up on the back end.

i think this is funny.. but i should beg my buddy for the pic of a stock XP163 and my nytro the way it sits.. both wet weight.. because i dont care if you show up with your dry weigt and tell me its 100lbs heaver.. it will be.. there is no fluid in it at all all the way down to the shocks.

but when we weight mine with 44l of fuel, and the xp with what ever it had. was about 30lbs difference.. .. so 30lbs.. thats the difference betweek cat and skidoo. just saying

My Xp weights 510lbs full wet, weighed it today. It is only a 156 but the difference between 154 and 163 is only about 5 lbs.

What's your Nytro weigh?

Got any fuel in that XP? I don't know what his Nytro weighs but mine came in at 620 full wet with Gen 2's, an oversize full fuel tank and a turbo which should be 530ish wet without fuel. The XP that I weighed on the same scale had a full tank, a 163 and electric start and weighed a lot more than your's (I think I have a picture somewhere). The turbo'd Nytros don't seem to have a problem packing a few extra pounds ;) Reliable hp rocks

I thought this was a Polaris thread, how did it turn to Yamaha bashing ?

You should of let your buddy get off the XP before you weighed it! :p

Mine is completely full of fuel (40L) and oil. No electric start but there is a nitrous bottle where the battery should be! I have pitched quite a few parts to save weight but also have some that weigh more. I have a timbersled skid but also have a Camo extreme 156 x 2.5" which weighs significantly more than a stock powdermax.

90lbs of fuel in your Nytro? That's over 50L of fuel! It doesn't seem to add up. Did I miss understand what you were saying?

I've never contested that a boosted Yamaha isn't capable of making some amazing horsepower. However I maintain that an XP (or other two stroke sled) will have no problem running with a low boost Nytro....

Perhaps I'm wrong.... Wouldn't be the first time. :d

Yep back in the 70's you were better. :d

As for Yamaha bashing that's just sport around here, that and taunting Joey they actually go hand in hand.

Last year we had a good running 860 163 xp and a 2010 nytro with an mcx 180 kit on it with a 162. the nytro was a long way ahead. stock 800's will be no where near a low boost nytro.

I ride a 2009 rmk 800 155, buddy rides a 2010 m8 153, other buddy has a 2009 800 doo 154, and the other guy rides a 2009 assault... the assault is by far the worst in the mtns for climbing no comparison to the other 3 it trenches with that short stiff track and stiff suspesion. but a really fun sled to ride and jump (Weird what they were intended for) as far as the other machines go they are all about the same and more than anything depend on the rider.... but i can say we hit one hill last year that all of us could make the top in a strait shot, we did it 3 times at the finish line it was 1)poo, cat, doo... 2) cat, poo, doo... 3) poo, cat, doo this was no rider input just a strait shot the cat and poo were side by side each time and the doo was 2 sled lenghts behind and lost most of that distance right at the start... so basically if you are on any of these 3 brands and your buddy is highmarking you its because YOU SUCCK! and are a shitty rider not because your sled sucks.... but with that being said polaris did win 2 out of the 3 races:d haha

If SLP can get 20 more horse out of the new poo engine you guys with your XP etecs are going to be crying in your beers. The power to wieght ratio will be in Poos favour with a durable chassis unlike the wet noodle xp that bends while unloading.
Poo engines have always worked well with pipes, unlike Doo which you cant even put a can on without dropping hp.

Well said
Cheers:beer:

I'm a Poo guy all the way. Poo I believe has a winner in weight and chassis. Engine max HP is not meeting the competition. Therefore the way I see it Polaris makes a very good machine that will likely handle better than anything out there but imagine what Poo would have if they had a 160+ hp engine in this chassis. There would be no doubt about who has the best handling and performing sled on the market. Poo would have the best performing 2 stroke mountain sled in the buisiness. Too bad they have been stung by their own doing. If I didn't hate all the other brands visual apeal I might consider at least a Doo. But there is no eye candy in my eyes in a Doo. Poo has sex appeal and handling in the bag. I will wait for the higher HP engine before I buy. Polaris is you guys are reading these forums you know what you need to do to get my attention. Get the whole package together, not 65%.. And quit bashing your own older technology on the net. Todays new technology is tomorrows old technology. Should we not buy todays technology knowing it will be no good tomorrow. Get your DI engine in the game and start getting ahead of the competition instead of playing catch up. You used to be the leader ...remember??????

i was giving my buddy with the 240hp nitro a good challenge, and when we went into the trees, he had no chance with staying with me, so a 180 would not have a chance with a good running 880xp
