2011 only hitting 7800 RPM on clicker 6

My sled along with my buddies sled are only maxing out around the 7800 RPM range on clicker 6. Both are stock sleds with just a can added, both are around the 2500 km mark with the new top end rebuild and new reeds. Sled's run great, they just don't hold the nice high numbers they used to on clicker 4. About a month ago i was always between clicker 3 and 4 and my sled would hold 8100-8300 and that is a huge difference. when the sled holds those numbers, it screams and climbs amazingly well. now it feels like 3/4 throttle, it's really frustrating. I don't know much about clutches and how to tune them, but has anyone else run into this and what have you done?

i bet the bushing in ur sliding half of the primary is shot causing serious wear on ur ramps and rollers,,effen stupid design brp,,why did u ever go with this sh!tty bushing???

Check all the vaccum lines to the rave valves. We had one after the update was done with some pinched lines and the raves would only partially open causing 7600rpm maxx. Didn't throw codes either.

Good question I just assumed that they were the same clutch. Cause that number is for the ptech

Thanks for the info, ya clutches were cleaned when top end was done. It'll hit 8100 down in lower elevations and it runs strong so probably not the vacuum lines, i think it is just a worn out clutch. I'll talk to my local dealer and try to order a rebuild kit. I really liked the stock clutching when everything was working fine, so i'll just rebuild.
Will the primary clutch bolt puller from the 08 model work on my sled? Someone told me I would have to cut it down 10mm

dont even use a puller,just wrap teflon tape on ur stock bolt,prop sled on its side fill the bolt hole with water ,start screwin it in and shazaam it'll pop right off..just gotta make sure u put the teflon tape on the right way and enough of it..

You wouldn't believe how many people that don't know which way to put Teflon tape on!

Just throwing this out there - this symptom started after the rebuild? If the dealer did the rebuild they would have put the sled back into break in mode.


also - no reason to go 8100-8300 rpm, even the 2011 peak hp/torque was about 8050.

if the snow was wet and heavy you need to adjust your shockwave.

Started happening right before the rebuild was done, that's why I thought once the rebuild was done along with the reeds then the problem would be solved...but not the case. I am fussy when it comes to the revs (I'm sure you are too) and always play with my clickers to get it to sing in what ever conditions and altitude I am in. Most of the time I was bouncing between clicker 3 or 4 and the sled pulled really hard. I don't care what the charts say about RPM's, I know what I feel when I'm riding it and at 7900 rpm it feels way down on power...like I'm 3/4 throttle on a dirt bike sand climb.
