2011/2012 Kakwa Conditions

Rode Kakwa yesterday, Way more snow this year than last new years.


It was good to see someone at the bus collecting for trail passes also.

If I make it I'll be on a 162 M8 stock 2011 graphics, I may be solo or with a white 2012 1100t and a black pro

still haven't made it out, road by two lakes is so bad they are advising 4wd trucks to pacck chains and take extreme caution, stetson hill is fair due to a tow tractor chewing it up but he is not there to help sledders, finally got time to go, snow conditions are supposed to be great(as of wed my group came out and said lots of fresh), truck is not outfitted for the road, see you in silver sands, remember to take pics for those of us on here dreaming

I'm not Audette but I'd bet a case of beer they are up behind Ruth possibly Broadview mountain/Francis Peak. the dead give away is Babette in the background of that one picture.

LOL yeah! we were in Babette the whole day on new years eve and the snow was awsome, we wanted to head over to Ruth because we could see the weather clearing there, then we realized we burnt all our fuel tearing up the fresh POW!!!.

Don't worry about the beer, I don't drink and sled cause I'm a $hity enough rider without booze and for me it's the opposite of liquid courage.

yeah it was quite a few days up there , we were glad it broke new years eve,

and the camera is a go pro, got it for x mas love it, but i missed about 3/4 of the riding that weekend , kinda choked but still got some good footage

The road near two lakes is in good condition, got back last night and with the fresh snow being packed down we found with 4x4 in and proper speed its just fine. At kilometer 108 to 111 (2108-2110) slow down and engage your 4x4 wind blown and very icey. The parking lot is like a skating rink and the first few miles of the trail is packed and icey also.

Im the guy that rolled the truck and sleds in two lakes park, someone came along friday night and stole all my gear out of my truck sitting on its roof, if anyone knows the where abouts of a klim gear bag full of klim gear, 2 beacons, gopro camera, please help a guy that just wrecked 2 sleds and a truck.

Im mad for you... Sorry to hear about your really bad luck. Ive had all my gear stolen too, along with my superclamps. Come on people its expensive enough just to go sledding, really!!!! What happened? Why did you roll? Good luck with getting back on your feet and back to the hills. Thats just one more reason i never go to kakwa. Too many people...

Sorry to hear about your luck Chad. I will keep an eye out on Kijiji here. I would love to catch them, put them in the back of my truck underneath the deck, and drive em back to Bonnyville for you.

shitty luck, pretty ridiculous, as for conditions they were great yesterday, made our way to cecilia and played in the hills/meadows/trees lot of trackless fresh snow, wind came in hard on the way home though

Some friends were out yesterday, they were nice enough to send me a couple pics, lots of snow but +8!

Rode Flat Top yesterday, bluebird day and could climb anywhere you pointed, pretty tracked up, could use some fresh but trail in was in good shape, you'll need scratchers to the lake though.
