2011/2012 Kakwa Conditions

Any updates? I was supposed to go last week and scope out our camp etc but Valemount won I will try and go on Monday if I can sneak outta work early enough

I was told a foot or so in the parking lot....It's 5:00am in GP and plus 10*c though..

Supposed to be grooming into Kakwa next week. A meter at the border.

just got back,snowed all day foot and a half at parking lot.looks like groomer was out for a run,was told 3 feet at border.

Rode yesterday to the border and fresh snow. .75m at the border sign. Rained hard all last night and started to snow at around 9:00am this morning and was still snowing when i left at 10 am.
Snow was just about gone at the strip this morning due to rain.

That rain at lower elevations sucks, all we can do now is wait some more...everywhere else sure sounds like there's some wicked early season conditions. Gonna try to head out next weekend, but it might not be to kakwa.

well I guess I really didn't need to go to camp today with your updates, but I did get the diesel heater working perfect so it was worth it, I'm going to be out next sat night and riding sunday so I will take pics for sure, got to our camp in the dark or I woulda taken some today, left at 8 pm and it was coming down

Ouch!!! that's no good, we're in the parking lot with a 36x12 skid shack so we could outlast a tornado but I do have a buddy in the meadow, hopefully his is good, heading up tomorrow night to ride sunday

saw the posts on facebook, hoping to hear if the lick creek camps had any damage, snow conditions looked good for early season though

Our camp is in the lick creek/staging area and no damage to it.

Talked with Lenny today and said only the few camps at Sherman Meadows had problems with the wind.I believe only the ones in the pictures.
