Yes it falls on it's face . It seems to run good up to 6500 but as soon as it hits 6500 it falls on it's face

2600 . Motor was rebuilt at 2000 and has a new VR on it . The reeds were replaced when the motor was rebuilt .

I would guess you ate a reed petal, even though they are new. It's worth a quick look....

that sounds more like power valves to me. they open around then. I have a dragon that did the same thing. check your vacuum lines
That's a good point too.... I clean my power valves every spring and never thought of that.

What kind of Oil do You burn? I run Amsoil and have never touched the power valves, checked them at around 1500 miles and they were still clean. I am at 2100 now. These motors like to eat reeds, especially V Force or Boyeson, does it have stock reeds?

Stock reeds and run amsoil

i havent had a petal fall off yet, but a friend of mine did and it barked and banged all the way back to the truck. we didnt know what it was at the time...not untill we started taking it apart. if its running fine right up until 6500 when the valves are supposed to open.... im no sled mechanic just trying to help
