Can people give reccomendations/experience on the kid size for 200 snoscoots. I have a 9 and a 3 year old and dont want to get one if the 9 year old is gonna out grow it in a year. Thanks.

depends on the kid, we bought one for our son when he was 6, he'll be 10 in January and we sold it last spring to get him a bigger sled for this year, we found he had it pinned pretty much all the time it was still fun for him but he's ready for something faster. At 9 he was also too heavy for the snoscoot and the shocks were bottomed out but you can get heavier springs. Also, we go to the mountains to ride at least a few times a year and want to be able to take him with us, with the snoscoot pinned on the trail it's about 30-35km/h and you definitely have to pack fuel for it. They are really awesome little sleds though and I'd say really good for kids 5-9years maybe even a bit younger for some kids.

Find a Indy lite 250/340 or a 300/ 550 freestyle. They hold their value you can use it until your done with it and get all your money back if it’s looked after.

Thanks for the responses. We had a 120 but I feel the 9 year old out grew it way to fast and to be honest I was actually dissapointed in it. Felt it didnt have enough pop and he was always getting stuck in very little snow. Was hoping to get a 200 last year let him use it for 2-3 years than let the younger one on it. I may just tranisition him to a bigger sled earlier instead. On a side note I grew up on a phazor and there an awesome sled to learn on if you can keep the top end together! Ha!

Im really curious about the blast M but I have a hard time justifying 12k plus for a sled for a 9 year old. Maybe im just cheap. Haha
It will be big for the 3 year old, but I got my daughter an Indy lite at 6 and did just fine. Now 8 and getting very comfy on it. it is easy to adapt a new pro seat onto them, they are narrower and allows feet to touch the running boards easier.
Its easy to doo as a Doo owner LOL.
The snowscoot is a cool little machine if you can find one, but quick to out grow.

I still have a 120, a 200 and a couple of 300's. My 9 year old is ready to move to the 300. He's a big kid physically, and is just too big for the 200 already. He rode the 300 a bit last year and wasn't out of place on it. My 7 year old is moving to the 200 this year and could have easily been on it last year. He was on a modded 120 last year and he got bored with it. He's big for his age as well.
Pending experience of the 9 year old, you may only get a year out of the 200 before he's ready for something new. As was said above here, a Touring E, Formula 380, Indy Lite are great machines for this, same with a older Cat Z370. Older Phazers wouldn't be a bad machine either.
The Freestyle we have is a nice machine, but they are hard to find and currently, expensive. I'm hoping this machine will keep him going for a bit - I have a 550 motor package sitting on the shelf for his machine once he outgrows the 300 in it.
If you are going to look for a 200, only look for a 2018 or newer. 17's are tricky to get setup to run properly.

We have two 200’s and one 550 Indy Evo 144. This picture is from last year when the kids were 10, 8 and 5. We had a 120, but didn’t keep it around for long as they are not a very capable machine. My 5yr old stared on the ZR200 when he was 4 and to keep things dialed down I put a hose clamp behind the throttle. Last year the clamp was off and he managed just fine. My 8 and 10yr old (now 9 and 11) fought over who got to ride the 550 and if I could find another 550 I would replace one of the 200‘s.

My son and daughter started on a 120 when he was 5 and she was 4. Moved him to an '82 Enticer 250 when he was 7. He then got on an '87 Excel-3 340 when he was 9, and she moved to the ET250 at 8. They both ride Excel-3 340s now, and he is 11 turning 12 in Feb., and she just turned 10. Running around the acreage and farmers fields, or even Whitecourt trails, they are great machines for them. Fast enough but not too much power. She is a speed demon and I have to watch her, but he is very reserved and cautious. I would let him try my 700 or 800, but not her. They are both taller kids in their classes. I am thinking about letting the boy try the old '98 Summit 583. We are thinking of a family mountain trip this winter. He will probably be coming on a regular basis in a couple years too. That means he can ride my old Pro 800 and Dad can upgrade to an Axys or Matryx!

Following along. Just sold the the kitty cat and not sure what to replace it with. Afraid to get a 120 and have him outgrow it in a year but feeling he isn't quite ready for the 200 yet. He will just double with me this year and see what we get for next year. My son is 4.5 but as tall as kids a year older.
Do any of you guys know where a guy can get a smaller aftermarket throttle flipper?
My 9 yr old son on a 440 mxz, his thumb and hand get sore really fast. The throttle is easy to push but it’s to far out.
