Thanks for all the replies. Its suprising how strong the 120 market is for how incapable they are and it seems like a pretty common opinion on them. After hearing everyones responses ill prob bypass the 200 and look for something a little bigger

Do any of you guys know where a guy can get a smaller aftermarket throttle flipper?
My 9 yr old son on a 440 mxz, his thumb and hand get sore really fast. The throttle is easy to push but it’s to far out.

That can be the down side to the bigger sleds for the little guys. The throttle angle and pressure to push. When they needing to go slow or mild throttle their little hands are not big enough to still grip the bars with their fingers.

You could try the stock throttle Leaver from a evo Rmk or Indy. They are at different angle vs the full six sleds and longer so it increases the leverage. But that angle also limits the sled to about 5/8 throttle as it hits the bar a lot sooner.

Those are awesome! Any idea where to get them?

Right here… I am the guy that made those for my sled so I could double my daughter around. They are removable and I included handlebar warmers for her.

I feel it really teachers her the basics of turning and handling and what to do to make a sled handle the way you want it. That’s the theory anyway!

A 3 and 9 year old need separate and totally different sleds!

If you can find a 200 you should buy it as fast as you can. It won’t be on the market long!

If you have a 120 already you are set. If you don’t skip that!

If your 9 year old hasn’t been riding sleds their whole life the 200 will be fine for a year or 2. The 200 are a good machine. 10 fold on the 120. With a 3 year on a 120 and the 9 year old on the 200 you all will have a blast.

The other factor in those little sleds is they only really depreciate a little for the very first owner that purchases them brand new. After brand new they sell for basically the same price for life. Sell it 5 years later for $100 bucks less than you buy it for.

Here’s how or sled were fitting my kids last season.

My boys are on the taller side of the average for their ages.

Oldest on the evo was 10. Dude on the 200 was 7, and they guy on the 120 was 4. They all had summer birthdays so a year older now. The oldest still likes riding the 200 as he likes to practice their putting the sled on edge and learning to side hill. Only down side is they flip it over and they piss oil all over themselves while upside down a lot!

These three stooges are my now riding buddies and they all have way more seat time than the average kid. But now they are coming to the big hills with me!

My plan moving forward if to find a used 600 Rmk 155 in the axys chassis for my 11 year old, move the 8 year old up to the Evo rmk, and put the 5 year old on the 200, and part with or 120 w/ an LO206 Animal.

Following along. Just sold the the kitty cat and not sure what to replace it with. Afraid to get a 120 and have him outgrow it in a year but feeling he isn't quite ready for the 200 yet. He will just double with me this year and see what we get for next year. My son is 4.5 but as tall as kids a year older.

As said above by someone else, I ran my guys 200 with a hose clamp behind the throttle for a while. Works great - can rotate it to limit how much throttle you want

i parked beside a first gen phazer Saturday (1984?) and man I forgot how small those sleds were... 28" ski stance and a 98" track or somethin?

probably the first sled to sidehill decently?

This thread had me looking for a sled for the daughter(6), might just look for a older 300cc sled instead and dial it back bunch.

…. My friend, just widdle a piece of wood and screw it to the back side. Tape it to the bars even.

depends on the kid, we bought one for our son when he was 6, he'll be 10 in January and we sold it last spring to get him a bigger sled for this year, we found he had it pinned pretty much all the time it was still fun for him but he's ready for something faster. At 9 he was also too heavy for the snoscoot and the shocks were bottomed out but you can get heavier springs. Also, we go to the mountains to ride at least a few times a year and want to be able to take him with us, with the snoscoot pinned on the trail it's about 30-35km/h and you definitely have to pack fuel for it. They are really awesome little sleds though and I'd say really good for kids 5-9years maybe even a bit younger for some kids.

Something wrong with the top speed, I can get 48 kph on my sons scoot. Plenty of forums on top speed being around 30mph.

To the OP your youngest is small and the 9 yr old is probably only going to get a year or so out of it depending on their riding experience.

Depends on if it’s going up the mountain or down. Ours usually maxes out at 22 mph going up the trails but can hit 35 coming back down.

I'm in the same predicament. Daughter is turning 7 in February and too big for the Kitty Kat now. What she really needs is a 200 but I'm having trouble convincing myself to spend that much on a new one. I may have to as my 4 year old will get a few years out of it after she's on to something bigger.

Have they improved the 550 fan engine?? I know the 2000 era ones are a pos. They don’t last. Need rebuilt regularly Run hot enough to melt stuff under hood. Etc

I haven’t priced but evo to blast?? Anyone looked
