2008 XP 154 to 163

i have a 154 and a buddy has a 2011 XP 163 track i can get for cheap. What is involved in the swap and what costs? He also probably has the rear skid if he upgrades his. Is there much of a difference from 2008 to 2011 rear skid?
Also does the 2.5'' track clear in the tunnel or do you need different drivers?

2.5 clears on stock drivers.

you will need a set of iceage rails or a set of 2008/9 rails as the skid changed in 2010. the 2010+ skid is much better than previous so if you can upgrade i highly reccomend it.

also a vanambug tunnel extension is the way to go.

also will need a set of scratchers because with the stretched tunnel your moving the cooler towards the rider in theory and most of the cooling happens in the back 6" of the tunnel. so they are a must.

Are you saying the 2011 skid will fit? What about gearing? Does it need to be changed?

yep it will fit. if you use stock drivers and the 2.5 inch move to a 20/49 or a 19/47

if you use avid 7 tooth drivers and 2.5" 3.0 pitch use 21/49 or 19/45

I was thinking of stretching a 154 to a 163 as well and was wondering is it possible to just install the track and rails and not extend the tunnel?
