ouch... Sounds like my wife. We got her a new sled (2015).. Had less than 2km on it... To test it out we always make our first trip to chestermere lake..... She literally rolled hers in the timmy's parking lot before she even made it on the lake. That's about 50 feet from the truck. Wtf? Lol

So I've completed all the base/primer coats and started on the actual color yellow (2 coats so far)... it looks promising to me.

It might be a good idea to leave the garage door open or paint in a well ventilated room. I think the paint fumes are getting to you and your multiple personalities, LOL

Well the weather was perfect this weekend, so I was able to get a couple more coats on...... on the last couple/few I've been giving it a real find sanding and then painting the final coats (of Yellow)... honestly, it looks factory to me it is working out pretty nicely. I'll remove the tape this week and then tape off the yellow so I can paint the black parts. That should take a week or so, then I can remove all the tape, clear-coat the hell out of it and put the panels back on in a couple of weeks. So far so good *knock wood*

Here's a picture of the progress... the black pieces are hanging further away.

Spray can.... (Fusion for Plastic® | Krylon) very light (but many) coats. The surface feels/looks factory. I am surprised at how nicely it has worked honestly. (I have not run in to any trees yet) Once the black is on I will clear-coat the **** out of it all. Even the rougher plastic side panels feel like they came off the line yellow. I'll keep updating as I work on it.... and show the final product eventually.

Here's another picture in the process. I was able to remove the tape from one of the panels last night. Tonight I should be able to remove the tape from the rest of the parts. Then I will re-tape to cover the yellow and do the remaining portion in glossy black. I think this part will be easier as it's black going over grey or black... rather than yellow. It shouldn't require as many coats. Also.... since I am a newb, I had some VERY minor bleed in one or two spots that made for a bit of a fuzzy line... BUT that is why I left the black for last. It will cover the small imperfections of the yellow nicely. (And if not there's always pin-stripe automotive tape).

Anyway here is a picture. I am more than satisfied with the results so far. (Relative to the Bow Cycle Sports wrap)

I little more work over the weekend. Removed tape from remaining parts, and re-taped yellow. All while watching UFC 192 from the night before, and then the Broncos game. Put the first coat of black on. (no picture of that yet).

I'm curious to see how it holds up over time. Keep us posted after a few rides please (or send me a p.m.) if you don't want to put up with the trolls.

In future, the minimal amount or tape you can put on freshly painted surface the better. Use more masking paper. Before you apply clear coat, make sure it is bendable with the paint you used. If not the paint can curdle and peel off. What type of primer/ sealer did you apply first?

Curious to see the final product as well as again after a season or so. I scrub and hit a lot of trees so don't think this would work for me.
