2006 Summit 600 Tunnel/Track Extension

Hi everyone,

So currently my 2006 Summit 600 SDI has a 144" on it. I do not plan on riding this for the rest of my life, but for at least another 2-3 years. I was thinking of extending the tunnel and the track to a 151" to get a little more traction/flotation. The debate I'm facing though is that I don't want to buy brand new rails and a track. I was hoping to find a used set of rails and a track in good condition. Or buy rail extensions if finding the used rails is impossible. The other option too is my husband was thinking of putting his 154 rails and track on mine, but it doesn't look like this would be so easy. So my question to those who know a lot about this is what is my best option, I don't want to spend a lot of money on a sled that I won't be using for the rest of my life. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks Tex. I wasn't sure if I needed the tunnel extension or not. I'm finding it hard to find that exact skid. Does anyone like using rail extensions? Especially if I'm only driving it for a few more years?

Personally, I'm not a fan of rail extensions due to durability issues - one piece will always be stronger then two. You may want to call a snowmobile wrecker and buy a used skid, you can recover some costs by selling yours after the fact. Another option may be to give West Country leisure a call for a used track and rails - he sold out BRP a few years ago but still has a bunch of parts. (780) 388-3939, they are in Buck Lake.
