I had a 06 cf 600. It was a great sled, the 700 is good but really hard on fuel. It's liquid.

Just got rid of my 06 Crossfire 600 this summer.. regret it now.. GREAT solid sled.. Id buy another. But Id look for at least an 07, so you can have reverse.

I would go for a 09 cf 800 sno pro over that sled, more reliable, more power, better suspension, a 141" track over a 136". The non sno pro is good too but the fox floats are unbeatable IMO

I think the 700 cat is one if the best motors cat has ever made. Like said hard on fuel. But they don't got reverse.

To be quite honest, about the only time I ever use reverse is getting the sled off the truck. The 700 Cat engine is absolutely the most reliable I've ever owned. Daughter rides mine now. I'll never sell it.

Look for a m7 great sled and motor is bullet proof and should have no problem finding one for your budget.

Might not be as good as the Crossfire 700 for what he wants to do though. Great sled....I have one....but the M7 suspension is pretty mountain specific. Not as great on trails.

I used to own a firecat 700 back in the day and it was the most reliable sled I've ever owned. Highly recommend that 700 motor (liquid cooled), well put together machine as well. The power bottom end power wasn't the greatest, but did pretty damn good on the top end.

It's more reliable than the 800 Polaris or Skidoo of that year, although the 06 skidoo was pretty good too.

I took a buddy's 2014 xm with tmotion for a rip and couldn't go back, had to buy one haha nothing handles as good for my style of riding. I would recommend a summit to anyone so far, only 145 kms in though haha

Thanks so much everyone for all your help and advice! I still have not found a sled to buy. A couple of my friends tell me not to get arctic-cat and to go with ski-doo because the suspension on ski-doo is way better! They want me to get a renagade with 136 to 144 inch track or polaris switch back
