We went to go fishing a couple of days ago, but the winds were crazy.

Went again today, and it was much more peaceful. We were at Duck Lake which is well known for it's Bass fishing. We were just using a snelled hook, bell weight and worms/power bait, going for perch and sunfish. Hooks were stripped a few times but no fish to shore. Was a perfect day anyways.

where is duck lake?

This Duck Lake is Just outside of Creston BC, before Kootenay Lake. A shallow lake but abundant in fish and other wildlife. While sitting there today there were Swans, ducks, geese, Osprey, Hawks and a Bald Eagle watching us. Neat place when you have a bit of time to kill.:d

You can not keep a sturgeon they are a protected species. We fished them in the Fraser River near Mission BC. every fish we caught we had to Scan them with an electronic device that reads a little pill like tag thats inserted under the skin of the fish. About 60% of the sturgeon we caught were already tagged If the fish did not have an identity tag then we installed one before releasing it back into the river. All information was recorded like location, length, girth etc. Apparently since this tagging program started there has been 40,000 sturgeon tagged.
