Good day everyone... I have a 1998 Summit X 670 with the stock 136" 1.75" track still on it. The existing track has a couple of torn lugs but should get another season out of it. I am looking to replacing the track in the future with either the same track with 2" paddles or doing an extension to a 144" with 2" paddles. I have the stock 9 tooth drivers still on the sled. Will the existing setup accomidate the larger 2" track or will I have to go to a smaller drivers with less teeth? Thanks in advance for your help.

Either drop and roll or 8 tooth drivers to fit a 2" track. With out a doubt extend the track to a 144 or longer.

It took us a little while to get rid of about 1/8 , look at the pic to see the pieces of track on the floor!

Just put a 144X2 inch on my sons 1998 583 put a set of 8 tooth drivers on it and was good to go. I picked up the drivers from my dealer The 1998 670 non X came with 8 tooth drivers. I put the stock set up on didnt go with extroverts. Part numbers for the stock set up are 415067400 for the 1/2sprockets and 414931800 for the full sprockets. I also ordered the track and 136-144 rail extentions for tracks Canada.

Get some 8 tooth drivers and go to a 151" track. Go with extroverts and you will be able to run the track a lot looser which will hep the friction reduction big time!

Yes do what everyone is saying, if you go with a 144X2 with 8 tooth exto's you won't have to gear down as the drivers will make up the difference, I just up from the 144 to a 151x16x2 and geared down in the chaincase also. The 144 was much better than the 136 and the 151 x 16 is like night and day. A little more work getting the 16" wide track in but well worth the trouble. Keep us posted.

Thanks for all of the help! Sounds great. I think I will end up with the 144" track with the extroverts. Who around Edmonton sells good rail extensions, tunnel extensions, and good extroverts?

I bought rail extensions from slp for my 98 summit. I think someone mentioned tracks canada or tracks usa.

Cheers
