1995 Hummer H1 - Should I purchase it?

I bought my house, and my rentals from a chick in a short skirt driving a piece of chit truck... Sure, I lost my azz on all of them, but I wouldn't have bought them from a dude driving a hummer.

One point my dad brought up was that jealousy of other friends could result in less referrals. Friends will be less likely to send you business if they feel you are getting further ahead of them(even though vehicles are the most common reason for debt).

Ahhhh hahaha! That's funny for sure! No happy endings, just a chit show when the market crashed! Your dad has a point, but it's great to have a car/truck that your psyched to drive. So, if you want it and you can afford it than get it.

Does anybody know anything about 1995 Hummer H1's, possibly constant problems they encounter? I'm looking at one with 100,000km, seems like every H1 I see has a bunch of repairs done to it within the first 80,000km. Where as other vehicles usually run into issues after the 100,000km mark.

One question, Have you ever sat/drove one yet??? I had a buddy that thought it would be the "best thing since sliced bread" to have and drive. He took it for a drive around Red Deer, parked it, and said no thank you. He's 5'11" and said it was the most uncomfortable thing he has ever drove, rough like a wheel barrow, big and clumsy, couldn't see a thing form any angle, noisy.... etc, etc....

Again though, if you want it, buy it. Each to their own, that's why they make more then one vehicle for people to own.


In my opinion, don't forget you goggles for the rear view mirror and some white sun glasses.

my sister has one you have to pick and choose where you park it's like driving a brick it has lots of clearence for "urban 4 wheeling" suchs as curbs and stuff

My buddy bought on brand new when they first came out{he had just one the lottery}full load,had everything,that thing never once made it from his home in Kelowna back here to the Island,tried 4 times broke down every time,it was in the shop or behind a tow truck all the time,then when he finnally said he wanted his money back after 6 months the dealer couldnt come up with his money so he ended up takin a new cadalac and cash just to get out of it.I did see one once in Kelowna that had a sled deck biult on top with 2 sleds on the roof,kinda cool wish I had got a pic,but like lots have said its up to you if its what you want then hey by all mean go get it.

I was looking at this Hummer H1 vehicle for city driving only. I'm a realtor and I think it would be a great marketing tool as I live in a town of 50,000 people this vehicle will stick out from all the rest. I'm not a mechanic by any means, I would baby it to prevent a ton of maintenance costs. From what I can see looking at all the H1's is none of them have a ton of miles but a lot of work done to them. Will this vehicle make it another 5 years? Thats how long I will be financing it. One thing I came to realize is that although its 16 years old, it's a hummer and all the h1's look the same if you aren't an enthusiast.

I personally wouldnt buy it, But i can see your point about Sticking out but at the same time some people could look at you as an a-hole for Flaunting your Money around.

Plus Gas alone would most likely be over 500 a month. Atleast gas in my truck was that much which is why i bought a new Jetta The fuel Savings will make the Vehicle Payment for me every month.

The turbo's get really hot as they are tucked in the back on the right side. I heard they are a problem with them. Plus when they are stuck, they are really stuck! :d
