1995 Hummer H1 - Should I purchase it?

Also if you do buy it and at some time decide to go to the States check before you go as in some places they are banned.Not because of saftey issues it was done because of weight.They wont allow vehicles over 6000 pounds to run a lot of the city roads in some states.

A buddy has one and put a Duramax and Allison tranny in it. That made it a real cool daily driver. The conversion was real nice, looks/drives like factory. It was loud and underpowered before but now is livable.

That would make an extremely nice machine with that combination.When GM took over they stopped the sale of the h1 in Canada claiming there were not enough sales for it here.Most of the parts were the same as the Humvee as they were built on the same line and the civillian ones were taken to a plant across the road for paint and interior upgrades,

I post on a Hummer Forum and I get one response.

Post here and I get 2 pages of responses from both sides of the fence. Even though most of them are gay, homo, douche, soccer mom, etc..

I feel like Joey in the sense that I still really want it even though it's probably a very poor decision.

I would ride it like a vintage cadillac, I park far away as it is(I hate door dings), my town is 50,000 so there isn't much for rush hour traffic so blind spots not as big of a concern. I guess it narrows down to I hope this fawkin thing doesn't ch!t the bed if i take it easy on the gas.

Hummers are little man syndrome kinda truck,
as far as marketing in a town of 50,000 u will have the shock n aww for at most a week, an then it will b "hey its "your name"....

Regardless of what anyone says here the ultimate decission is your's.If you are happy with it and you feel the price is right as well as it's what you wanted then it's a good deal.

In my own opinion I wouldn't be afraid of buying it.They are a good vehicle if driven and maintained properly.

Are you trying to market yourself as 'that douche canoe with the hummer'? If so, go ahead and make the purchase. Seems totally impractical frankly. Couldn't even drag a trailer of sleds out to BC if you wanted to, or you would be concerned about blowing something up.

Does anybody know anything about 1995 Hummer H1's, possibly constant problems they encounter? I'm looking at one with 100,000km, seems like every H1 I see has a bunch of repairs done to it within the first 80,000km. Where as other vehicles usually run into issues after the 100,000km mark.

I think putting up a few bill board advertisements around GP would be a heck of allot more effective marketing tool, be 100 % tax deductable, and be allot cheaper in the long run.

The vehicle payments+insurance would be an extra $325 a month. Everyones all about the Billboards when they run $665 a month and that's not even in City Limits.

Everytime you see this Big Metal Tank around town you are going to think of me. You'll run into somebody at work who's looking to buy a house, you'll remember me and my big stupid hummer. If I sell one house because of this, then its worth it. The way people look at a young individual coming into the industry is he doesn't know what hes doing. If I roll up in an expensive vehicle like a Cadillac in comparison to a Pick-up Truck its a world of difference(i've done this). You old school guys on here may think wow what a "douche canoe" but in the back of your mind thats a douche canoe with money from selling houses.

I definitely took the not being able to haul sleds into consideration. I have access to 2 different trucks that I can easily use to haul my sled.
