I have the opportunity to buy a 1976 440 F/C Snojet in very very nice original shape.
Border on minty and original owner.
Only down side is it bogs and probably needs a carb cleaning after 30 years under a tarp in a farmers shop.

$400 - what are they worth??????

What wrap and what kind of can does it have?

It has a stock 850 wrap - building a lake drag sleeper.
With that wrap no one will suspect the azz whoopin they are gonna get or even a finish without it blowing belt!!!!!

Can....keepin it stock.

Wouldn’t run it too long before tearing the engine down. Should do crank seals fuel lines, carb clean

They are worth what you are willing to pay. They were pretty hot in their day. Running at all would be about $750 so $400 seems more than fair.

Look what you can buy on kijiji for 400.00 and look what you're thinking about buying, and I would say it's pretty obvious.

Ya I have not se it yet but it is my uncles and just going by what my cousin said.
It was used about two years ago for a 50km run, other than that sitting in shop 30 years or so.
Thought 76 was last year of SST440.

Need to do some research before Sunday morning.

I remember buying a new one in 1977 for $2,175.00 from a dealer in Spruce Grove. Went like hell that machine.

76 was last year of snow jet Kawasaki took over in 77 Kawasaki used the Sst chassis but called it an Astro and 76 would be Yamaha if yours has a Kawasaki it would be a 77 but some 77,s did use up the last of the Yamaha engine inventory
Post up pics when u get it home any old survivor like this is worth getting back on the snow

Yep, rode a 1975 for 10 years, greatest sleds ever built IMO, light, reliable with the yammi engines, and fine rear suspensions...

One of "THE ONES" that changed the sport....

Sorry for grave digging, but couldnt let it go without posting...

If it had red pin stripping on the front aluminum bumper-side rail, with red snojet, it was a "presidential" model; kind of like a prototype-demo, or like a snow check model... Could be worth some decent cheddar if it was...
