@1200) I hear what u are saying with gearing the t3 down for quicker track speed but i feel that it is so low geared and slow already i just cant go any slower. Its like driving your truck in low range all the time . How fast can u go with this 19 53?

https://www.ibackshift.com/calculator
use 7950 rpms and constant 50.29
19-49 @ 73mph(118kmh) max safe belt speed 68mph
19-53 @ 68mph(109kmh) max safe belt speed 63mph
why not just run a 19/51= 2.68 reSET to clicker 1 then u would have 71mph..(114kmh).a little xtra speed For the trail compared to the 19/53= 2.78... Also new 2020 ski doo 85o 165 3 and turbo r both running stock gearing of 21/53=2.52 so if your running an 800 the 19/51=2.68 will give u an earlY edge on the trail and hole shot.... beeP!! beeP!!!

I’ll be honest, been running up the trail for 20 plus years , the last time I did 114 kilometres an hour on the trail was when my foot slipped on my Tapex and I accidentally gripped and ripped. I would be more than happy at 60-80 with a bit too spare .

When im in a pull, i want the track to accelerate as abruptly as possible to equilibrium track speed. Like crawling in the trees and pull the lever, the speedo "slot machines" to XX track speed.

When driving in the trees and come up to a fallen tree, lower gears lift the skis quicker, more abruptly than a taller gear and im going over that tree better and look cool doing it. ha...

I dont drive fast. its cold, boring and if I could stuff a 55 bottom gear in, I would.

Kit is up to you.

Stock clutching is good for 94~95% of owners. We test and find a little deficiency here and there and then when there's a handful of them, this is the causation of a clutch kit. A kit rises to the surface and fill in those cracks that test guys (and me) run the sled hard in a routine and style and find.
So I can say should see with stock gearing around 5kmh more than stock. If you had 58kmh, now should get 64kmh. When climbing that bench, have more time to think and let off near the top and blip throttle to get over, instead of mashing throttle to saw through the top. The sidehill ability has a very tight thumb to track feel and the track speed is slow and does not jerk, nor feel spongy throttle....just creep along and fkin givver when needed.
Engine braking coming down the hill with 19-53 will hold to about 12~13kmh before declutching. So if you dont like strong engine braking, this is not the kit for you. :becky:
And I promise Mister, oh boy, you are going to get stuck, you'll give up before the track does with 19-53, and be very pleased with yourself.

So I will swap out the gearing and give it a go without clutching, I won’t hesitate too grab a kit if I think it will help. Thx a lot for your info, we will talk soon. Also welcome too snowandmud Vendorship...., good too have you aboard!

Is there other T3 similar sled in your riding group? A good thing to do is spend 2~3kms riding around on yours. You have a certain style of riding. You arrange the sled and throttle in a fashion different than anyone esle, to say, climb a bench of this type and will think "i can do that" or "i cant do that" and not execute it.

Then get on the similar sled with stock gearing. Yer taking your style to a sled with different settings. Then get back on yours and do that at least 2X.

Switch back and forth at least 2x on a similar sled and eventually your mind gets enough inputs to tell you "something is missing" in the style of driving you do. Because what you had to learn on your sled, you'll feel the other sled's conduct if you can execute the maneuver or not.

Hmm...when i get on "his" sled, the throttle feels like a sponge. HAHAHAHA

This is why I believe "side by side" testing is the best way to test anything on a sled.

I don’t have another T3 in my group, everyone is on 850’s , this sounds like the more I know the more complicated it is. I just want too gear the sled down for more bottom end , less speed on top is fine as I rarely open it up on the trail.I don’t want a belt eater either. I’m not looking too be king of the hill. I was going this route as I got a complete turbo for this sled , mayby I will just turbo the fawking thing because clearly there is no answer , gearing down a sled for an average Rec rider can’t be this difficult
