Step 3 - grab a beer in frustration wondering why would Harley use a 12 point metric bolt on the brake pads.
Who even uses those any more.
Well I'm off on a mission to find one???? And am not happy about it!!!

Step 6- Take tire and rim to dealer .
Wait forever for tire to get mounted .
Run out of beer . :)

Check and repack your bearings , while wheel is off SBR.
Have you tried the ceramic beads for balancing ?
I put them in my rear tire late last year , and are supposed
To increase tire life . Will see down the road if this claim is valid .

Step 7 - Watch rain come down , and screw up riding conditions to test new rubber .

Have not done ceramic beads, will look into it. Rear bearing will likely get changed. Might as well do rear breaks while I'm there.
Hope to get tire back today and installed over weekend

I called around to see how much to change my rear tire.
Calgary HD - just over $300 if it's on the bike, $260 if I bring the tire and wheel in. :Hammer3:
Kanes - around $150 if I bring the tire in.
Chrome Toys (Andre's Motorcycle Accessories) - $55 on the bike or $35 if I bring the tire and wheel in. I'll pull the wheel off tonight and drop it off tomorrow.

Maybe I should have done a bit more shopping around.

Cycleworks won't touch it. They said it's a Harley and wouldn't have the proper tools. I pulled the wheel and the only special tool I needed was an 1 7/16 socket for the axle nut. I tried sending a friend of mine there to get some work done on her GXR. After she talked to someone there, they both decided it would be better for her to go to Blackfoot. Too bad since she lives in Okotoks. Business must be great in the foothills!
