Bruce, can you please answer some of my questions about the kit? I posted these questions earlier...

So who's map are you guys running in this Vipec unit? Is it HM's map or your own? Have you modified the map in any way to get it to run up here? How does the Vipec work exactly when a ridge of low/high pressure moves in? How much will it compensate and is it an overall compensation like a main fuel compensation or will it give it more/less fuel in every RPM increment when
needed? Can you turn the boost up and down?

Thanks
The map we run is HM's map as it was developed in Montana and they ride the same basic elevations as us. The map is not changed by us, we load it here. The Vi-Pec replaces the stock ECM has additional sensors that feed it information and it changes the fueling just like a stock machine. If a low pressure system moves in the pressure change is picked up by the engine sensors and compensated for automatically just like the stock ECM. The ECM is just like a calculator taking in all the inputs and fueling the sled at all RPM ranges for max performance. The max boost is fixed to make clutching the sled possible.
We rode the pump gas from 1200ft to 7200ft for 3 days in our conditions in Sicamous and it ran very well.

Just wondering where you came up with 240hp Bruce calculated or dynoed.

That is what HM promote the kit as, we have not dynoed one. As with all thiings Ron, the proof will be on the hill. If the 190 kit is any indication the 240 kit should really be fun.

How many lbs of boost at 7000ft elevation to achieve the 240HP? Any engine work? Pipe?

The pipe and the engine are stock and not touched. I have no idea what boost would be required to reach 240hp at 7000ft. I suppose it would depend on the intake air density which would include the effeciency of the intercooler. Most horsepower numbers that I have ever seen are corrected to sea level.

240 hp kit is on the snow this weekend
View attachment 149374

Well I rode my pro 4 days last week in revy and never touched a thing, except one clutch belt! Have around 600 miles on it and no issues at all. This has to be one of my most reliable sleds I've ever built!

I seen a couple of silber kits struggling to get up the trail to the alpine, looks like fun. The one guy had no idea how to adjust his fuel controller(to many flashing lights he said)
he probably shouldn't have a turbo sled anyway.

Just wondering how the vipec worked for you guys? You said it was going on the hill this weekend, just checking in.
Thanks

We rode the HM 240hp kit in Sicamous this past weekend and the sled ran great for all 3 days. From the parking lot to the top of the mountain it never missed a beat. It ran like a stock sled just with way more power and we were in deep snow. My hats off to HM Turbos. If you want one of these kits for next fall I suggest you phone us at Mountain Magic (780) 474 - 9400 now to book in now so you will not be disappointed. Based on what we witnessed this is the future of turbocharging sleds.

With the correct base map and proper sensors in place there is absolutely no reason why this wouldnt work. Not to mention the fact it would be such a blessing to not have to hammer away on buttons all day. Nice work guys.
