I have a 2019 850 x 165 and I want to put a 175" track under it. Not sure want I all need to make this work. Can I just use 5" rail extensions and new sliders? How about the tunnel. I was thinking of just adding the expert flap and leaving the tunnel the same length. Also what is the best track to put on? Stock ski doo or CE x3. Any advice here would be great.

I wouldn’t waste the money on extensions and just buy two new rails with sliders. As for the tunnel I’d just take the flap off because if you want to run the expert flap, you’ll have to get the new rear frame piece where it rivets on. Camso makes some nice tracks. I’d check out the 3.2 lug version

The upper bracket for the rear arm is further back on the 175's so I don't think stock rails will work.

That's interesting because the XM T3 had a setback rear arm on the 174's as well

If my memory serves me right it was the same length from bolt hole to bolt for the G4 165. That was back in 16 so it’s been awhile

The 174 xm and the 175 share the same drop bracket and rear shock. You will need aftermarket rails to make it work without buying and replacing more parts.

This conversion is a lot easier than your being led to believe.

first off you don’t need new drop brackets. Yes I am aware there different but...

all you need to do is reverse the swing arm mount location on the rail and the rail brace. Everything else will bolt right up. The original 174 had the rail brace in front of the swing arm but if you switch them up all pets will work just fine. All you will need is the rails, that’s it.

if you go the route that is suggested then you need a new shock as well.

Doesn’t Ice age make rails that will work with the stock 165 rear arm and shock, without flipping the lower arm to get doo rails to work??? Or did I misunderstand what you wrote???

not the exact picture but you get the point. Reverse the locations of the lower swing arm and that rail brace. This will move the swing arm forward 4”.

A friend of mine went with the ice age rails. And left his tunnel alone.
He's had no issues.
He has a few issues. Needed extra scratchers to keep it cool on the trail. It also gets him stuck in places we can't get to him.

If you haven’t sorted out anything for rails or a skid , I have a complete 175” stock
skid that I would be willing to part with the skid as I have no use for it , there’s only 4-600km on it. I pulled it and went with a complete kmod when I did a full custom build Let me know What you think
