I agree with Maxwell! Beer is far too important. As I resemble Doug's remarks as a 200+ pounder, it will be easier to just slip about 50 lbs of lead weights into Chris' backpack to make it a comparable experience! I find the extra ballast from my personal pony keg (my 18 year old has the six pack!) helps me to sidehill easily and pull the 175 over with ease... ha, ha! Next thing you know all these fly weight riders are going to be bulking up once they find out our Clydesdale riding secrets!

Okay so how much weight do you think is added with shock oil, coolant and some 2 stroke oil? maybe 10 lbs? There is no chain oil with belt drive. The Cat weighed has no fuel in it. And ready to ride is BS too as some hold more fuel than others. With your train of thought I would buy the sled with the smallest fuel tank. I am sure that a dry weight has a belt on it, just no spare.

If one sled holds more fuel than the other it’s really irrelevant. If one sled which is a comparable competitor to another has a belt drive and saves weight that way it’s also irrelevant.

When they all come off the trailer they are full of all fluids. That’s how they leave the parking lot, that’s how they should be weighed. If one sled holds a gallon less than another but if all things being equal they both get the same range then good on that manufacturer for making a more efficient machine and saving weight with the one less gal.

All the little savings add up. Including the ones off your tub as Doug mentioned.

I realize that but that wasn't the point!

That sled of yours would really perform a lot better if there were 30-40 less pounds on the rails. Also, not many know that beer tastes better when you are in riding shape!!
Beer and Jackie's cooking made me fat lmfao, I used to be a bean pole

I wish there was an easy way to weight on the Hill how much snow retention each sled is. I know it can vary a lot between sleds brands.

Wet weight, dry weight, its all semantics.
Im more interested in how much extra weight the sled packs on with snow. I think the alpha will be lighter than the other two.

1100 is that your Challenger? I would recognize that car anywhere. My brother in law built that car from the ground up many many years ago. Looks to still be in great shape. It did the show car circuit for years.

My dad bought it back in 07, Misty Blue. It's still much the same, he's been driving it around. It's a awesome car, paints getting a little bubbly in back quarters. The chrome that's pumped into that thing is crazy.

I laugh. I go out on the hill and my eyes really see what is going on. How many people are 200#+? Way more people way over weight than the sleds are. 10, 20, 30 pounds for the sled really doesn't make a difference when one is trying to manoeuvre our slick sleds through the trees. What really makes the difference is the weight differential of the riders.

The cheapest mod one can do to lessen the weight is to get into shape and lost some of that belly/ass fat!

Bingo. I've been saying this for years as I was on a 155 for the last three keeping up to guys on 163 and 174 except for the super steep stuff. An 160lbs vs 260 rider makes a huge difference in flotation. I had a tough time actually buying a 162 this year because 60 % of the time I really dont need it and the shroter track sled is lighter and more fun.

Yep I grew up riding around in that car on nice days. It was my brother in laws baby. Gotta love that line lock! Paint was one of a kind. He built that tilt front end from scratch. Lots of good memories. Just needed a big block.

Don't show the masses the gas tank! Its eliminates the need to carry gas on the tunnel and moves the weight further frwd. 13 gals where the 850 doo is 9.5. 800 etecs were 10.5. Visually seeing the fuel is orgasmic. 5 lbs lighter than stock.
Do not buy this. Bad idea. Leave it for Kanedog to buy.

But that is unacceptable as your "ready-to-ride" weight goes up if you have a bigger tank and those guys who are adamant that it is the only way to weigh them will tell you that your sled is way heavier now.
