This make sense. Unfortunately there is another thing not mentioned in this thread though, it is weight distribution from front to back. The Cat was always nose heavy and this may be more noticeable when the skid gets lighter and previous Cat experiences also involved more weight of snow in the skid. ( possibly making it more balanced compared to Alpha) This new Cat would benefit more if that weight was taken from the front instead of rear.Wet weight, dry weight, its all semantics.
I'm more interested in how much extra weight the sled packs on with snow. I think the alpha will be lighter than the other two.
