The gt-5tp you have to file the 771 a bit to. Most of the antennas are all pretty close to each other as far as reception vs length goes, I should have rated all the antennas I have tried, and let me tell you I have tried a lot of them. Two stand out, without a doubt the magnetic roof antenna beats them all, and for stationary the J nuoda that 4 foot long basterd reaches out their too, it does not require filing.

What there is a 4fter?
I have been looking for a direct mount 1/2 wave or quarter wave with no luck.

I should go back to school and learn some more. I just did it the old fashion way trial and error and money. Some 30 dallar antennas you thought would work did not. Well off sledding

Just setting up the latest shipment of GT-3TP's and it looks like they made the anttenna port a little bigger.

No sanding.

No i went with the UV-XR which is the 10 watt after the UV-9R. These are the waterproof ones. Maybe did 20 or so of each radios. I went through around 30 uv82hp's as well. All of them seem to take different versions of chirp, but mostly i used baofeng software for programming as i did not want to add and subtract numbers. Almost all of the baofengs are pretty close as far as range goes, but i seemed to have to have gotten good results from the gt-5tp's. What do you want to use it for?

Some times when you get those great deals you find out that those chinamen but any dam hardware in any radio and also i am sure they get hold of reject radios and resell them to. Best use well known company that sells a lot of radios and has a good reputation.
