Take your chances who knows you might even get the 6.5 watt radio instead of the 4. If you are not a fan of the channel mode, frequency mode button that will eliminate a ton of baofengs.

Why do you want such a big battery? Don't the regular ones already last for two full days?

The radios I bought from Ray were used for 4 days over the holidays without charging and still showed 50%.

Purchased three of these radios while in Montana and found they worked pretty decent, even had contact with kids on backside of whitefish ski hill to the base lodge, and sledding they when a decent amount of distance as well, only 4 wat..

they ey also worked well with cheaper radios once we found frequency list..

But it need to order a few others and looking to see what's better now out there.. Love the price

that is perfect, will order the five set with mics and cable today... Thanks

another question I have, we tried last night to listen to Calgary police, but could not program there frequency in, it gave me a cancel on the third last digit.. Any idea what I'm doing wrong, or does this frequency not work with these radios? We we able to here the Kalispel Sherrie when we used tried there frequency out with them..

thanks

Alot of detachments are digitally encoded tone cod vs a static one. Sylvan Lake last year was one of the only ones I was able to creep on.

Consider the GT-3TP
It uses the same chipset at the UV-5RTP but is water resistant and the chassis is a little more rugged. But you can only uses the Sainsonic as the Nagoya ones don't fit as the flange is two wide.

If you do go with the UV-5RTP buy the Radiooddity knock off NA-771 anttenna as the Nagoya ones are counterfeits (blue lettering). Or buy the Nagoya anttenna from Boefeng Tech.

I have ordered about 30 of each of those radios, one more time that orange button on the face is a pain in the azz in a backpack. Off the frequency we go.

It's not part of the lockout function?

I don't think any of these radios to 868MHz frequency. Correct me if I'm wrong. I would say it's either that your radio doesn't do that range, or your step size is set too large in the menu and it will only let you type in a number that hits a step.

I have spent a few hours on the digital dm-5r baofeng , trying to get in. Lots more programming options with a digital radio. So far the baofeng and the Zastone make excellent bookends.

The Uv- 5rtp work just fine, they program up nice. Almost like NKtech UV-5r plus thought the nktech batteries are a little quirky. I swear they put any firmware in all of the radios though.
