isnt a 163 a little harder to turn, throw around etc.or does the longer length float better and make it easier to turn?

the floatation makes it work so you don't need to carry as much speed, but they are a tinny bit harder to throw around. and by tinny i do mean tiny, probably wouldn't even notice it

I find my buddy's 159 much harder to throw around than my old 144. My current 151 isn't even as fluent.

I got a buddy who rides a 136 renegade, he goes places people on 163s get stuck at .. it's all about the track speed and skill.

I'd probably get a 154 if i was buying new, but I'd be torn about it .. I really like throwing my old 144 around in the trees.

Bottom line is, if you can't make it go where you want to, you will get stuck, doesn't matter if you have a 174 track turbo sled

I dont think you would feel much of a diff from 146 to 154, some peeps love the longer tracks and they doo help but for play and toss'n and some jump n the 146 is more nimble I enjoy my 146 but I upgraded to non ported ce 2.5 track and it made a big differance. I like all riding including climbing but even when I climb its rarely straight up so to speak so you just work what ya got.... that 163 may help early season on a blower POW day but otherwise you will be all good

maybe re sale be better on 154 then 146 is my guess

I also had 159 rev and 151,, I enjoyed the 151 more then the 159 but it was minimal and Im kinda short and not too big lol so smaller easier to toss....

come on snow Im ready

but next xp probably 154 because I want that freeride and thats what ya get,,,,

Johni You can get a Freeride in a 146...

anyhow, I had a 146. I came off a 151 rev and thought I would be happy on the 146 for the style of riding I do. I prefer tree riding and boondocking to climbing silly stuff. After a season I put a 154 on my 146. Plain and simple, the 154 is an all around good sled for most conditions. The stock ported tracks suck on the pre 2011 sleds, so had I had a CE 2.5 on my 146 I might have not swapped to the 154, but its hard to say.

Also with the 146 it tends to want to stand up more when climbing straight up. There is only 4" of track difference contacting snow, but for some reason it does act different.

I am not a big guy and the 154 works awesome. Most of it is how you set the sled up for yourself. There are lots of tricks to make the XP's perform a little better without spending any amount of cash.

If you are going used, get a 2010 or newer with the suspension geometry change, and if you get anything with a ported track, ditch it for a CamoExtreme 2.5".

There is a small rumour Camoplast will make a 154 3" 3.0 pitch available this year. At this time its speculation.
