08 xp 800r air intake screen

I bought an 09 foam filter (as a back up) and put it behind the stock ripped screen (left me sucking deep pow last x mas in revy, lucky a buddy had some SLP air filter screen in his pack), glued the stock screen back together and put on an SLP secondary kit. Works great and no troubles in 800 mountain only miles.

For those guys running Timbersled intakes, did any of you notice a
loss of crisp throttle response? I think I remember seeing something on Doo-Talk
about guys going back to their stock air box for this reason…?

maybe it's like a pipe... works for some, not others.
or do you think it could be an installation issue?
more than one guy was having the same problem though...
