Beef up your 08 Nytro subframe before you bend it and you will bend it.

The subframe stiffeners that the 09 subframe has and the 08 subframe does not have, are off the waterjet and ready for shipping. Extra reinforcement in a small but critical area added to the rear stiffener.

They have to be welded onto the subframe.

PM me.

You will have to make clearance by lifting the sled or kind of rolling it. All I took off of mine was the side panels, platic lower side panels, Skid Plate, and move the rubber boots that cover the steering tie rods away from the subframe to do the Rear stiffener and welded it in from the bottom. You really should take the subframe out so you can weld on both sides(to and bottom) but I did not on my own Nytro. For the front Stiffener I removed the shock and the upper a arm from the spindle, to rotate it out of the way and welded it in. Tight spot but it can be done. Disconnect the batter y and CDI/computer if you are welding with it in the sled or you may fry the computer.

Not unless you want to weld on the top side of the rear plate. You will just have to take out the rear push button holder on the steering boots and keep the plastic out of the way while welding. To get into the front stiffener it would be easier to remove the shock and remove the upper a arm off the spindle for easier access. You can still leave it attached to the sled though. Dissconnect the battery and CDI/computer. But no you are basically there. You would see once you went to weld it in.

The only reason it doesnt have a hole in it is we had to change it alittle from what Yamaha did just to be safe. A hole saw take care of the no hole pretty fast.

So you're selling two chunks of steel to weld up to the subframe? I'd be interested. How much? How thick is the steel plate you're using to make the reinforcements? Email me at chrs_w@hotmail.com thanks.

pretty much all of us that have the 08's are having issues. I didn't hit anything more than the lip on my ramp at home into my shop & the subframe bent like it was a piece of tin
It's all personal preference, but if you're riding hard & want to prevent it........it's up to you!!!

Good luck & play safe:beer:
