So I’ve been loosing my mind and arm the past week trying to get my sled going and she refuses! Plugs are drenched when I pull them everytime, not major spray from the cylinders, and it wants to go, it fires and tries to take off but then ...... it rips the cord outta your hand with extreme prejudice!! Fuel system seems good, injectors are operating fine, tons of spark, new coils, just won’t start! Help me!!!

try holding the throttle wide open and pull it over. That should give it air and shut the injection down and see if it will start. If that doesn't work try pinching the fuel line shut or pull the plug on the fuel pump to stop the flooding , you probably have the crankcase full of fuel. Could also be bad reeds

Wide open produces the same results sadly! Have pinched the line after a few pulls it quits the yank back but no longer attempts to fire! I had considered the crankcase, is there a quicker way aside from pulling the plugs and yarding on it?

No pulling the plugs is the best way, We did this with my sons m8. pull the plugs but make sure you keep the fuel line pinched or it keeps pumping gas while you are pulling it over. you can leave the plugs out over night and let it evaporate.

So most likely is just the crank is loaded? Well I’ll give a few dozen pulls with plugs out and let her sit and see what happens!

Have you removed the injectors or unscrewed the fuel rail? Friend of mines did the same thing and we did everything that was posted above with no results, so we removed fuel rail and found a blocked injector

You spun the flywheel on the crank. Take the flywheel off the crank and i bet you any money that the key is sheared off.

When you hydrolock the engine while pulling it over and it jerks back, youre spinning the flywheel clockwise, and when the piston dead ends and the hydraulic force sends it back down before reaching TDC it counter rotates the crankshaft. But you have the starter pawls engaged into the flywheel cup, stopping the flywheel from turning. Something has to give. The timing key is the failure point.

Alright, so triple checked the whole fuel system, it’s good (injectors working properly)! Pulled it over 60+ times with plugs out and line pinched and then let it sit 24 hours, still instantly wet plugs! Flywheel didn’t shear off the key, still aligned all marks are good! Checked all connections and exposed wires no sign or worn through wires or shorts! Last real options I have are crank has literal cups worth of fuel in it or ECU?

Had you been using the sled already this year or is this the first time starting from storage? It sounds like you are fighting bad or old fuel?

Your fuel pressure regulator could have packed it in, they bypass into the tank if they go they put too much fuel into the system. They are not hard to change . Did it try to start when you were pulling it over after you dried it out or did you un pinch the fuel line before you started pulling again?

Sounds like bad/rotten fuel or crank case has excessive oil/ fuel in it from sitting....

Are the plugs wet smelling like gas? Or oil? If oil maybe could try drying the plugs and try putting a touch of just fresh gas in each cylinder, put plugs back in and try firing it up.....

Can't see it being ECU. I have a square symbol ECU you can try but it's in Calgary.

It’s the first time out of storage! However when we were putting it into storage it was running very rich! My buddy brought it into the shop and changed the coils cause they were acting up and then never started it again and we got busy so just tucked it away

I pulled it a dozen times with the line pinched but nothing, unpinched and 3rd pull backfire

plugs are always wet on removal, smells like gas but like faintly despite being dripping wet! Have warmed up the cylinders and plugs and fresh fuel on each backfire is still the result

Did you hook the coils up to wrong connectors on wiring harness?

most 2 stroke sleds only had one trigger pickup and they would fire both plugs every 180 degrees. Your m1000 has two trigger pick ups one for each cylinder, making it important which coil is connected where.

If you have good spark, fuel, and compression, the only other thing would be timing, and if it backfires every time it fires its out of time.

Every time it backfires you risk damaging your reeds as well.

It was running before you changed the coils and hasn't ran since...that's where I would start...

I have tracked it down I do believe after a final lookover of the sled with a service manual in hand all sensors, coils and such are good, fuel regulator is good! Two issues: injectors resistance is triple what spec is and (on the note of timing) the TDC mark is definitely off timing with the cylinders, manual wasn’t clear on whether it’s mag or pto side that TDC is taken off but trying to line up either of them it’s about 30 degrees retarded or 30 advanced so grabbing a puller and removing the flywheel tomorrow and expect to see a lovely sheared key
