04 800ho wont run

Just finished rebuilding a 04 800 Ho with a RK-tec drop in kit
than installed the whole works into a 2007 XRS and yes I swaped the wiring harness and ecm over as well
so after all that. Two pulls she fired right up but when u go to give it some throttle it goes pop-pop-Pop and runs realy rich
kinda like the 4 stroks when they are cold

any help would be great.

Does it idle fine? Did you swap the coil to?

Idled fine. but fired it up again tonight and was like it was floading out.

And yes swaped out the coil as well

Do u have the temp sensor and dpm plugged in backwards

Same plugs and can be wrong as they are close

Been there after a engine swap the opposite way, a 07 800 r into a 04 chassis

Update swaped out the dash now as well and got the rpm working and now I got one light flashing

also so won't rev above 3000 and it starts cutting out.

Also that light when the sled is iddeling just flashed and a normal rate but when u rev it up to 3000 rpm then it just flashed slowly

Just wondering which carbs you used...did you change jetting(not sure about rk tek drop in kit but if it includes his head, he usually drops a couple sizes)? Really interested in how this goes as my son is about to do the exact same swap - has good 800ho and found a 07 chassis...Keep posting as you go! Thanks

They recommend 390 and jet from there. I have tryed every which way, up down and in between and still won't run right in mid range. Is it possable that iT is over oiling? My plugs are really black and smokes like a bast@rd
took it out a week or so a good and as long as u feathered it through mid range. Once she was open goes like crazy. Re-did both clutches etc. I'm down to pulling the oil injection off and just pre-mixing. Or open to any other advice. If the wrong y-pipe Is on posable that that messed everything up ??
