Stock gearing is pretty good, why do you think you need more track speed?
Lot's of variables depending on your elevation, clutching, etc.

I am running stock gearing, and clutching with high torque rollers in the secondary. It runs pretty strong.

I did try dropping the top gear to an 18 and it really had snap on the bottom but was worried about the chain breaking.

I ran the stock set up for the elevation you want to ride and it worked really good. Just make sure you are shifting out your clutches.

Need more info. Is it stock, any mods, what elevation, what kind of snow, are you a larger rider, what is your track speed now and under what conditions.

Sorry, way to vague to give any opinions.

Still not enough info to really help. Guessing 159x2 track on 03. Not sure on stock gearing, but 19/43 stock gears on my KK works great.

Check the easy stuff first.

Pull primary clutch and clean. Check all weights move freely. Check rollers move freely. Check pins for wear. Replace spring($50).

Pull secondary and clean. Remove multi angle helix and install straight 51 or 53.($50) Remove factory rollers and install rock or hi-torque rollers.($60) Replace spring.($35)

Buy new belt($70) and wash in warm soapy water. Trail ride gently for 20 miles to break in.

Find a big hill and see what it does. Most power is lost in the clutches.

Bet it feels like a new machine for under $300

Unless you have twin pipes, the 900 falls flat over 7900 rpm. Clutch the primary for 77-7800 rpm and it should rip.

I agree with all of the above. My King is carbed and I only spin it at 7400 with an SLP single pipe and can. It did not come with a speedo, so I don't know what my track speed is when climbing. It does really well in the Pine Pass area of BC.

X2 this is all very good advice. You can run a 16 wide 2.5 track on that machine also. We run a 162, 2.5,16 wide on one and 260 pound rider and it really works well for a big guy. The Mad Max 1000 kit and 40 shot of Nos helps also!!! when i ride it it @ 165 pounds the 240 horse can bang with most turbos.
