Boys? How’s the Expert suspension working out?
Comparable to say a Raptor set up?

They're supposed to be stiffer but to me look like the same X shock with a fancy coating on the outside. Spring looks the same, valving could be stiffer I suppose but can't see it comparing to the KYB pro36/40 nevermind a good aftermarket shock.

they have 20% "stiffer" valving. but they will never compare to a KYB 40. but a KYB40 effects deep snow handling so its a tossup trail of offtrail performance

What do the KYB40s do in the deep that's unfavorable?

they are a much stiffer shock no matter how soft you set them so i find they do increase the effort required to initiate side hills. not as noticeable on the 36" models with KYB 36s. also a little more feedback when crossing old tracks. an S-38 machine with KYB40s is a stiff sled. the newer freerides with the S36 and KYB40 is about the best compromise for good on trail suspension and good off trail performance.

So, from what y’all are saying, not really worth the expert premium?
Get an SP and then buy aftermarket shocks?

I'm hearing good reviews overall on the expert. Rode with one all Saturday in some chit and the guy loved it coming off a 2017 165 G4. At the start of the day he wanted taller risers and his loud can and by the end of the day he was pretty much ready to leave it stock.

No the expert is still a good value. Suspension is a personal preference, send the expert shocks to tim at enzo and he will personalize them for you.

The enzo suspension is still a upgrade over the expert package shocks.

if your not satisfied with a summit x shock package then this is what your need to do.

The short tunnel is advantageous, but a removable snow flap will give you the majority of the handling improvement IMO

Buy a holdover sp for $13k and treat yourself to a good suspension.

Keep the stock shocks and put them back on when you sell.

Rebuild the good shocks and move them to the next sleigh.

I phoned Enzo, left a message last week and have not heard from them! Are they still doing shocks? And are they hard to get ahold of? Just looking and maybe doing something with the new expert shocks

Yep he is still at it.
Tim may be still in the states at snocross races. I talked to him three weeks ago and he was hoping to be back the first week of December.

You have clearly not spent time on the Expert Package, i know guys say I am just toting the line, but seriously even with stock sp suspension the expert it chews through the deep snow 10 times better than a reg summit x or sp, just wait till more guys are riding. The short tunnel and evacuation is a world apart. I have been riding the last week in 2-4 feet with 20 new experts that guys have, everyone one of them was blown away. Yes piggy backs tuned will always be better, but for the majority of riders, myself included unless your chucking you meat over 60 feet, stock shocks are only worse on the trail, or when conditions suck, in the deep pow, it wont matter. I love the suspension on the expert, however I prefer my fox coil overs, but they are 3500.00. The Expert package is cheap for what is included and the difference it makes, like the T3 was, but even better!

10x better? think you might be exaggerating a bit haha

I do think the expert is the sled to beat right now and if you don't like the shocks, yeah go spend 4g for some better ones.

the expert has the adjustable limiter strap so you can set it for climbing or tailstandard time

Had that same option on my 17 850, it worked ok but felt under tension the mechanism on the inside still got forced to let slack off the limiter strap mb they have made it better
