I am not sure what the prices are in the US but there are some great deals to be had in Canada for one year leftovers and even some current year sleds. Check out Banner Recreation for instance.
Many people have used a TRA 3 on xp sleds, so if you can find one you can use it, just make sure to calibrate it for your sled. The TRA 5 on the RT I THINK will work but you have to use the guts from your TRA 7 (arms, ramps, etc). A good info source for TRA interchangeability is mxzrevzone. It...
Sometimes the secondary roller studs can back out and cause it to act up. you can check those by taking off your belt and leaving the little tool threaded in so that you see inside the sheaves. Rotate you clutch and you will see two # 27 torx bolts directly across from one another. You can...
I think that it kind of depends on where you ride. If it would be an easy tow out to the truck then run her this winter then do the top end next summer. If on the other hand it would be a 1500$-2000$ heli lift and then another 2000$-2500$ repair bill because the cases and crank went too, I would...
I had a driveshaft break once. It broke right in the middle of the driver so you could not tell it was broken by looking at it. The driver held it in place but when you tried to move the sled you could see that only part of the shaft was turning and the driver did not turn at all. Worth looking...
I had an 02 800 that for 2500 miles I just put gas and oil into it and beat the crap out of it, I did virtually nothing to it besides a new belt a season. At 2500 miles the motor went wrecked the crank, cracked the cases scratched both cylinders and pistons. Had it redone and rode another 1000...
Come on guys, don't be so hard on the Doos. The last time I went to the Torpy my Doo did not have to be lifted out of the bowl. Actually it died at KM 10 so it was an easy pull back to the truck. LOL
If you decide to get new roller studs I was told get the studs for a 2011 with part # 417 127 252. They are supposed to be a new upgraded stud from the previous ones. I bought a pair and installed them in the fall when I put in high torque rollers, both of my rollers were cracked so take a close...
Take your belt off, open your secondary with the tool, now look down in between your secondary sheaves. You should see two #27 torx head bolts opposite one another, they hold your rollers in place. It could be that one of the heads broke off and went through your clutches. Or also check the rear...
People have made tools out of flattened nails or very thin screwdrivers with a bit of a hook filed in to the tip. I had broken rollers so I just busted them right off to get at the clip. When I re-assembled I bought new bolts and used the new clips that came with my high torque rollers. The new...
Get a place with a few acres just out of town, get a big dog, get an alarm, and do not advertise your toys unnecessarily.I think a good place in a rural area would only be about a 20 min drive to get right in to town, some areas are better than others so ask a few questions about specific areas...
If you love the big city you will not like it here. IF you want to live in a place where you can get to work in 15-20 minutes from anywhere in city limits, only have to wait a red lights for a short while, have winter from dec.-march, and still be only a 1 hour flight away from CFL or NHL games...
I would trade you too if I were near you. For most people the 154 is the preference, but for the type of riding I do the 163 would suit me better. Look around and I am sure someone close by you is willing to do a cooler\rails\track\gear swap and it would cost next to nothing for you.
The Torx on the secondary roller pins is a T-27. I found one of mine cracked during my pre-season check, so I agree with checking them out while you are in there. I replaced mine with some high torque rollers and they came with new E-clips.
Get new cotter pins for your rollers, get both bushings in your movable sheave. (The whole spring tower cap and the little bushing in the sheave) these were poor material bushings from the factory on 08's. The little bushing is held in with a small clip that almost always gets wrecked so a new...
