I seem be going an unusual number of ski rubbers on my Pro. I've got Skidoo rubbers on there now but I've had to replace 2 in the last couple of rides.
Anything better out there?
Better maps are useless to those that have zero idea of where they are in relation to the map.
People carry GPS's and have no idea how to use them.
The education would need to start with basic orienteering from junior high school.
I found one connector to the voltage regulator was disconnected. Plugged it in but same result.
I'm wondering if this could have damaged the voltage regulator.
I looked up how to test the regulator with a multimeter. Diode test but I'm getting numbers like 142 instead of the .5 to .7 that I...
Some ok spots up top and a nasty crust not too deep right now but it will be ugly after a big dump. They haven't started grooming because of the lack of snow so staging was pretty high up for this time of year. The poles aren't up yet. I'm guessing for the same reason.
I hit 3 pretty good...
I was zipping along with my sled on it's side (clutch side) and smacked a stump hard enough to throw me off.
The side panel has 6 inch crack. Now, I do not have headlights (high or low) and I can barely hold the grips because they are so hot (high or low setting).
I got back from my trip last...
The positioning is based on radio contact so if you can talk to them you can get their position. I think it's important to recalibrate the compass on Rinos every now and then. Trees and terrain are a factor and affect all radios. I've had to walk out of a ravine/gully to make contact.
Baofeng with an upgraded antenna. We've never had an issue with 5w. The radios are used for keeping track riding buddies. We have Rinos but only a few of know how to use them. I used Spot Messenger for a few years but switched to InReach. Same cost but better features and 2 way communication.
I had all of the shocks rebuilt in November.
2 issues I can feel:
On the trail it feels like the suspension is bottoming out.
I've set the preload for the springs according to the service manual and my weight with gear.
It feels like the track is rubbing constantly. I haven't a chance to ride a...
It's hard to tell your buddies you're not comfortable with where the group is going or tell them you don't think you can handle the terrain but...
I would rather say something instead of finding myself in a much worse/challenging situation knowing I could have changed our path earlier in the...
Good idea!
For those that have dual band radios, FRS 16 is Frequency 462.575. Correct?
For emergency contact info for my Spot Messenger, I include the radio channel our group uses.
I had a 900. I'll see if I still have the service manual on my computer.
One of the first things I did on my 9 was get some spindles from an 08 dragon or rmk. Improves the steering a lot.
The screw is way too short to put a point on it.
It's an odd size too. Nothing I have matches.
I'm going to drill a divot in the bars. Not thru but enough for the screw to sit in.
I took the throttle off last night. There's a groove worn in the handlebars and the set screw looks pretty worn. I'll move the throttle over and pick up a new screw.
