Ya, we can't head into the B.C. side of Kakwa until Dec.1st. But there are other places to venture just outside if there is enough snow (The stagin area is about 15km's from Kakwa).
We can also drive down the quad trail on the Alberta side anytime.
I didnt have enough time to go quad towards the falls at all, but the snow was gettin deeper pretty quickly as I got further in. So I could only imagine that the snow is gettin deeper further in.
Already posted these in another section, but Ill put it in this Kakwa thread too :D. The fog didnt break enough for me to take a pic of. These two pics are from Lick Creek staging area Saturday morning. It started to snow again on the way out in the evening.
I was south of Grande Prairie today at Lick Creek staging area. The road was a complete mess, but the further south i got, the more snow there was. These pics are from Saturday morning at Lick Creek. The fog was too thick to see the mountains, but they are RIGHT there. Frustrating not to see...
you're right, but if you are in search mode, you are not transmitting. So it sounds like if you stop moving (get hit by an avy by suprize) and cant switch back to send mode, it automatically switches back when you stop moving.
Im headin down that way this weekend. I'll remember to take some pics.
Im guessing that it should snow out there again today with us getting this bit of rain in town.
December 1st cant come soon enough...
Awesome!!! I thought with this rain in Grande Prairie and cool temps down there that it might snow. Im probly headin down that way tomorrow :). Still need A LOT more snow before we can go ridin there, but have to wait 'til Dec.1 for it to open anyways.
Well, I'm done school and was gonna head back home tomorrow, but this new snow is makin me want to stay around for one last ride..
Anyone plannin on headin out that way on Thurs, friday,or sat??
I want to go for one last ride, but definitely can't go solo.
Lemme know :d

So has the season been extended to the 30th?? or is Kakwa closing on the 15th?
I'm drivin up next week to work in GP for the summer again and Im debating bringin my sled up with me for a ride or two.
Riding was awesome last weekend, too bad you had to haul ur Apex out.
Looked like that little sled woulda been an interesting ride out. I liked the billet big wheel kit on it, haha.
Glad you brought the cigarette thing up, because most people dont think about it, "its only one butt", but it accumulates without anyone even seeing it until the snow melts in the summer.
I gotta add that people should pack out their beer cans as well :nono:. Ive picked up literally garbage...
Well, I have the week off school (Feb.14th-22nd) and have a place to stay in Radium hotsprings, so i figure that forester area/ silent pass would be as good a place as any for me and my buddy to sled for the week.
I've never been out to this area and was wondering if anyone else will be up...
