Goes without saying but did you dismantle and clean all the jets in carbs? Does this sled have a choke or does it use the primer system? If it has the choke system make sure the plungers actually move when you move the lever.
We were out yesterday and there is not enough snow to get off trail. I saw quite a few rocks and stumps that had been exposed by sleds because there is no base. I sure wouldn't risk it yet.
I would give these guys a shout. They have some old Elans and some Skidoo 340s listed for parts.

Here is a link for what the Canadian Government is going to do for all seniors for staying home during this crisis.
All seniors are entitled to a grant to stay at home to avoid the spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus starting on Nov. 1, 2020.
The Government grant is accessible to all seniors 65 and...
There was a mod to richen the midrange on those carbs. Unfortunately the parts are no longer available. The mod was to replace the primary nozzles with different nozzles that had a thru hole or in other words there was a hole in the airbox side of the nozzle and a matching hole on the engine...
I'm not sure this doctor's opinion is any more or less valid than Dr. Henshaw's. I did look up the Ivermectin he mentioned. It sounds like it's pretty effective but most likely too inexpensive for the government to look at it. It's been around for 40 years so it should be safe...
Ahh, bringing back memories! Definitely start with the carbs. Those old Mikuni butterfly carbs they used did not take kindly to having fuel sit in there especially for that length of time.
There are 3 small fuel passage holes just where the butterfly valves meet the carb body. These supplement...
I stressed to them that license plate fees should go to support the sport that generates the money and not into general revenue like it does now. Also mentioned that there should be a gasoline tax rebate on fuel used for motorized recreation much like Montana has.
I disagree. We are worse than Edmonton in that regard when it comes to municipal. Somehow Nenshi keeps getting voted in. When it comes to wasting taxpayer money there is no one as bad as Nenshi. This is just his latest on his long string of wasted dollars. Who votes for these clowns anyhow...
Beer and the Wheel.....
The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel.
Beer required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture.
Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were...
That should do it unless you did somehow get a lot of condensation or bad gas. You can avoid a lot of condensation by filling the tank at the end of the day.
In Alberta last spring they effectively shut down sledding by closing the staging areas and handing out big fines to those who disobeyed. $1200 too steep for a day of sledding for me. I might be staging along the road if that happens again. Truck and trailer will be social distanced from others...
