Sounds like BC officials dont want people to travel (for good measures). But should you travel, travelers need to adhere to the rules and guidelines laid out.

We can still travel about our region but not out of the region. I take it I can travel to Sicamous but not to Vancouver as long as it is for essential travel (whatever that means).[/FONT]

Nope. If you read the details, they say non-essential "should" be avoided. That is only a recommendation and not enforceable. They may be able to enforce multiple people in a vehicle, but not the travel. ie, I'm sending my kid to Sask for Christmas via airplane and all is legally good.

So what does this mean? I was planning to head to BC Thursday to ride some fresh snow. With a health state of emergency does this mean police can write tickets for non essential travel? I was just going to do a day trip pack my own food only stop for gas. Just my son and I in the truck.

I'm going on thrusday to sunday as well.
My take is this announcement to an attempt to reduce numbers. Instead of 2000 sledders from Alberta rushing into BC every weekend. Maybe only 1200 will show up. And of you are one of those that decides to go, (like myself). We must follow the covid protocols laid out.
I will ride alone in my truck. I am staying in a cabin with 3 others. In town I will wear my mask anytime I exit my vehicle.
I will be polite to the town folk and other travelers and understand Services may take longer as restaurants are running with reduced staff.

I think that's pretty easy.
