I hope it was. Unless people start getting hit with big fines, and then tell everyone so they start paying attention, the result will be shutting the areas down so there is no way for people to ‘wander’ where they aren’t supposed to be.
Stock, whatever that is. 6ft tall, seems to be a bit shorter the the 2014 adjustable post was at its tallest setting, might go 1” longer after I have more of a chance to ride it.
Was running 1 all around for first bit on the trail. Changed to 2 all round after lowering the pressures to see if would help with bottoming out, didn’t really but left it there for the rest of the day. It does make it stiffer on bumps on the trai.
In case you are interested, I used some scales to check the weight distribution on my sled when it got it from my dealer.
they had it set with 95 front, 60 front skid, 150 rear skid.
full of fuel and oil, with 200 lbs for rider and gear.
Front left. 166lbs
Front right 162 lbs
Front skid 288...
Don’t know about comparisons but I was doing a break in ride yesterday, hitting the throttle hard, dropping off when it hit the rev limit. Road riding to do this. When the rev limit came off I almost went off the back of the sled. Haven’t had to hold on so hard to the handle bars to stay on...
I had the dealer do the new one, on the 2014 it was time consuming. I looked at how the 2018 are installed and rather than put rivets from inside the tunnel, they go in from under the lip left after you cut the original boards off. That should make it easier as I had to remove the skid on the...
I got the Cat mtn boards and bumper on mine, haven’t got out yet but other than using the plastic traction cleats instead of the molded in ones that they used to use, they look a lot like the ones I installed on the 2014. And those cleared snow well.
I’m serious, last sled I had with torsion springs you could rotate a cam to load the spring more or less, three positions was all it had. What has the Doo got for adjustability on the torsion springs?
Skis are the critical thing, everything else is nice, and will make an improvement, but start with the skis, then the 36” front end. After that just ride it.
This is what I got today.
Air pressure as per AC settings.
2018 MC
95psi front
60psi center
150psi rear
1/2 tank fuel, full of oil, rear rack with tools rescue stuff etc. I normally carry gas but take it off and stash it when playing.
190 lb rider with gear.
Front Left. 166
Front Right...
Installed one today, didn’t need anything extra to get it tight. The installation instructions hqve you taking more that just a side panel off. You might be able to do it with just that, but then I could see having an issue getting it tight.
Anyone who is hoping for a good deal in the new year on the 2018 Arctic Cat M sleds don’t hold your breath, picked up my sled on Thursday and the sales guy at Ralph’s said it is the first time in years they have a order book for sleds. And they have been getting calls from other dealers asking...
