Well, first of all I would like to know what skidoo has for new gearing for the 2018. I can almost guarantee that it will be lower. I blew a belt at 650km and geared mine down 2 teeth on the top and now I have over 2000km on the new belt. I didn't really notice any difference in speed or bottom...
Re: The Role of the Secondary Spring
Thats why I didnt post any of the specs he suggested. So he cant be flamed. All I know is he hasnt steered me wrong, and I totally trust him. Everything he has suggested has worked better and I have not blown any belts. Now I am trying to wake it up and...
Well, I happen to be one that hasnt had any problems with mine. I have hit things under the snow, even at the dreaded 30-50 degree angle, and no broken bulkhead. I did blow a belt at 650km, but i geared it down and now I have over 2000km on the new belt and it looks great. I have only adjusted...
Oh I just meant that i am not WOT all the time, just like Maxwell and you said. I am more on/off the throttle.
I guess that means we are not extreme riders. Lol.
Well, I have over 2400km on mine and only blew one belt at about 650km. I geared down to 19-51 and still on that belt for over 1700km. Sounds like I ride more like Maxwell and Ferniesnow. Lots of tree riding and technical sidehills. This thing cuts lines through the bush like no other machine I...
It was pretty good last weekend. 2-3 feet deep on sunday after a good dumping saturday night. The trail is in decent shape, even the first six miles. Be aware it is a long trail ride in to the cabins at Kakwa lake (35 miles) so extra fuel is a good idea. Once you get to the lake there is many...
I have about 1600km on my 165 3" ES now with one blown belt at about 650km. I geared it down to 19-51 and now there is very little belt dust and has about 1000km 0n the belt. I did go over the handlebars once real hard and noticed my coolant jug has white stress marks on it so I almost broke it...
Shane was exploring the ice cave up at Flattop. Didnt see a hole and stepped into it. Fell 55 meters (180') to the bottom. It was a very tragic and sad day for sure.
I agree, I also read that the clickers wont raise or lower rpm. I did some testing this weekend and can confirm that each clicker position is about 200 rpm, give or take. I have added about 4.5 grams on each bolt and am running 8000 rpm on clicker 3. I moved up to clicker 4 and was running...
I can confirm 21/51 on my summit 165 3". I am actually trying 19/51 this weekend to try and lower belt temps and see how she performs. I also added 4.5 grams of weight to the bolts. I blew a belt at 650km from heat ( so the dealer says), and dont want that to keep happening.
I took mine out and like it better in the powder. Seems easier to control. Pitches a little on the trail in the corners though. I did tighten the spring one number.
165 3 inch. As I like to break in both belts, I have 100km on first belt no problems, and 150 km on second belt no problems. Also the first belt has about 45 km pulling dead sled out on crappy trail conditions, and still looks good. One reason not to go out in early season.
Ya they have 10 hour checkup you are supposed to take it in for. They just go over the machine and make sure everything is tight and good. But it is not mandatory and they can not deny warranty if you dont bring it in. I have bought seven skidoos since 2005 and havent taken any in for the 10...
Anybody been to Hasler yet? Thinking of going out this weekend (Dec 3-4 2016) just to check things out. Would be good to know if someone else has been in.
The sleds we rode in the 80's were a whole lot better than the sleds they rode in the 60's. The sleds in the 2000's were a whole lot better than the sleds in the 80's. Now we have the 850's and such and they are going to be much better than the sleds in the 2000's.
Something tells me the kids...
Are you planning on coming to Grande Prairie? Or is your son going to Calgary. If you are coming to Grande Prairie I would be more than willing to show you around. We go to Kakwa just about every weekend. There is also a lot more places to go also in northern BC. Pm me if you are interested.
I had a 2000 arctic cat 600efi. Back then the buzz was change pistons at 3200 klm. Mine blew up at 3400 klm. Broke a piston skirt. I dont know if they changed pistons after 2000 but something to check into. Hopefully they addressed that problem. Anyways, enjoy the sleds, they all look in great...
