Yeah that's just duty charges, it's nicer top pay them up front for sure. The times you buy and don't pay duty at all just means you may have been dealing with a smaller private seller and not a business in my experience.
Well snowboarding has put me in questionable positions and getting buried in a tree well while nobody had a shovel was reason enough to take a course before I go rip the sled in even more dangerous areas. And go figure you hear in the course guys in similar positions snowboarding didn't get so...
After taking the AST1 classroom today I will be in the next rescue workshop and wish i'd of taken it yesterday as Laurie goes over what gear is the best to have... I'm in similar shoes, bought some of the gear at the sled show and after seeing the probes she recommends I wish i'd of waited as...
After taking a class today #10!!! I honestly think it should be mandatory and if some douche decides to burry me while i'm stuck I hope the precedent gets set and manslaughter charges are a consideration. **** like that is totally avoidable if you know what to look for.
Sorry Joey but if i see...
Not quite ready for a ride here... just made room in the garage to park the truck out of the snow and gave it a tune up, avy training today (great job Lori!). Now to get a beacon, fill my avy bag with survival gear, and hopefully get good news from Dean to pick up the sled with a small bill...
Is there really that much snow? Been so long since I was riding around Sudbury/north bay... Debating taking the sled with me over there and worried 162 is too long for what pow I will find. I do have a few buddy's on shorter m's out that way and they love pole lining (it's not all flat though...
A mix of both for sure. I had a shop that squeezed me in for a tire this summer on the day I left for a 2500km treck and I will use them again in the future... Not a place I'd normally stop at either so good on em!
I've done it. Not a soul on the road between Thunder Bay and the Sault, snowing the whole way... Didn't take the ford outta 4x4 and damn snow were priceless! Also an eye opener paying 1.50 a litre in some areas
Moonlighters drive down hourly wages, just sayin. City I moved from had no shortage of auto mechanics moonlighting for $40 an hour that a legit shop had a hard time charging $65 and most customers would bitch we were too expensive yet we had a scan tool and the Moonlighters didn't. That said...
Still early you'll be fine, they got some snow around the Great Lakes today but nothing substantial... Try that drive in February, that's a whole other story!
I know people like to bash unions but I had to prove myself for over a year to become a member of mine... They're not all bad and having to prove yourself for that long sure takes away any "entitlement". I definitely feel as though I had to earn my spot and thus respect it that much more...
To any of the cheapskates out there who would rather put more money towards sled trips, go
Pick up "the easy way to stop smoking" by Alan Carr. I know you're thinking a Book won't make me quit...... Just try it, it's $20 and what do you have to lose??? I know over a dozen personal success...
