You must have an aftermarket can if its bottom of belly pan, most they can come out is up to panel with stock can, we've got one with 15 days on it up against his panel the whole time and it is barely making a mark but with that being said, please tighten your tabs and that greatly helps, mine...
If put the other way the resi hits the plastic pretty hard, mine look like that and 2 of us compressed the front and it looks like there's no way it can touch the a-arms......i hope
I'm that guy LOL, we've had a few guys out running around with them and great results heat wise for the food and no issues with excess heat on plastic, I.ve had mine in and out of the holder a thousand times and it still fits snug
Last years was the g4 model which is completely different then the g5 one which just came on sale this fall but i encourage you to install it and enjoy
I got rid of the cardboard junk in mine, i used DEI heat tape with lightly insulated backing, pre cleaned all the panel with isopropyl and it stuck awesome, also covered up anything that i thought might be affected by heat on engine side
