Check with an OHM meter. There is connections under the foam riser clamp cover. Trace the wires to the connection. Depends on year of XM for resistance. 13's had lower than the 14's. You might have a short in then.
If looking for replacement parts for the secondary, check these guys out. Hi-Torque Rollers Recommended by Dynamo Joe. Its the only place I have found that you can get the secondary sliding sheave bushing. Doo doesn't off the bushing, manual says to replace sheave.
You should be able to clean up the t-post with a wire brush. Unless the knurled grip has come off the post. If it has you can use a small file to clean up the post. I wouldn't recommend any thing other than the t-post. You want the bars and risers to give so you don't end up with you guts all...
Initially started with 2.52 and then went to 2.33. If you can find one used for a good deal go that route. 2.33 is what the FR came with stock. I've moved the belt drive over to my summit and will try the 2.52 on the 154.
